I hate British weather. Edinburgh had the worst snow in living memory 6 months ago - the previous winter, the temperature never got above Freezing Point for a month. Today, it's been hot as hell AND it's been horribly humid.
I hate summer, and its heat. I never get comfortable in it, and I work in a hospital, which has NO air-con, which doesn't help. It's bl**dy awful for the staff, and it's not much better for the patients.
Matters are compounded by the fact that I get Hay bl**dy Fever, which makes me more miserable than I usually am. Happiness is a summer with temperatures no higher than 16C, no wind and no sun. It can rain as hard as it likes, cos it damps down the pollen. At the risk of going slightly off-topic, are there any other poor beggers out there with permanently blocked noses, sneezes that can strip anaglypta or wood-chip off their walls and eyes that stream every time the sun comes out? Do you take anything for it? Does it work. I take Beconase nasal spray twice a day, which helps me a lot.
