Aw cannot work it out - yet !. What unit was it btw ?.

My own sightings to day :-
377607 on 14:52 Sutton-Victoria (diag SU907),
377604 & 377606 on 16:23 Victoria-East Grinstead (diag SU903/904),
377618 & 377609 on 17:12 WestCroydon-LondonBridge (diag SU905/906),
377612 & 377613 on 17:42 WestCroydon-LondonBridge (diag SU901/902).

377605 has been seen working in the past.

Still no proof 377611 has done anything.

As of 13:00 there was the 7 out. Sounds like more are now out.

However today has seen some interesting workings including a 10 Car visiting Tulse Hill on test to what the system was showing as a 14 car 377 combo (in service). Why not add in another diagram.

Oh and 620 is now at Selhurst.

Thanks, added 620 to the list.

I still have not seen 611 in service myself.

Waiting for diagrams to fall into my lap .

377611 did the Brighton runs with 377618 two weeks ago, there are some photos online: http://www.flickr.com/photos/857297...YoC-6RFiLX-aePRUM-87G423-8M5Qjr-e34uAm-dLdsLG

Thats a nice photo. Nighttime shots on a slow exposure used to be my thing. I notice on 377506 that there is potentially a join above the gangway connection where the light enclosure would be ?. Compare with 377611. The First liveried 319 ? on the right looks so different to the 377/5 which is surprisingly black - must check next time I am on the Thameslink route.

I need to get out more at weekends - 611 is evading me.

No slow exposure, was shot on a mobile phone.

The gangway was the same, just light is different plus the 377/6 is three years cleaner.

As for compared to the 319, note the front of the First livery is a different color from the main body on a 319 but the blue doesn't exist on the 377 as its the updated livery. Tho there is the new livery now.

Remember last weekend there was no 377/6 out in service at weekend and it should be similar this weekend.

Mobiles everywhere - makes me old !.

Yes, and it always was the case that the livery had to be able to age. One 377/6 I saw today had a few flies on the yellow front not sure how that happened this er late Autumn.

Oh yes. I went senile re engineering works last weekend. Was reading the posters but did not think later . Went to Middlesborough on Friday to accompany my mate while he got the Boulby Potash freights - none of which ran . Simple me was happy as I sampled a Mk4, 185, 156, 142 and then a Mk3 :). Actually think that might have been my first ride on a 185 !. But the Mk4 in the morning and Mk3 in the evening were remarkably noisy with punters drinking.

On my way into London Euston this morning a 377 was in Wembley Yard, is this a 377/6?

377610. Should be off to Stewarts Lane today.

Changes have been made to the delivery since 621 was attacked, hence the lack of reporting generally from myself. (I don't want to give out details that could be used).

377605 worked the Suburban Saturday diagram today, but with the Brighton trains terminating at Haywards Heath again I don't believe there were any mainline 377/6 workings.

377604/606 were out Friday afternoon on the East Grinstead turns. 377607 was on SU907. More diagrams must surely start appearing soon considering its only 4 weeks til the timetable change. Other than the 16:17 Victoria-Horsham and 18:04 return, is it likely there will be more diagrams to Horsham? Thanks for any info.

With the 456 fleet now 'as is' until the timetable change, they in theory don't need any extra 377 diagrams as they don't need to release any more 456s...

I'm not sure there are really any more diagram available yet. They've taken over all the 10-car diagrams and the one single 455 diagram. Three units have also been reported as returning from Selhurst to Stewarts Lane because they aren't needed yet. There were 10-car tests last week overnight on some suburban routes, so I'd assume the platform extensions are close to commissioning now. Once they're commissioned, and assuming the 10-car tests were successful we might start to see more diagrams.

Horsham Will be getting more of the new 10 car services in the new timetable in December.
Network Rail have also just made branch 1 & 2 available in the down sidings north by electrifying and installing new walk ways. The 4 branch sidings will hold a 12 car (4x3) and 3x10 car 1x(3+3+4) and 2x(5+5) in the evening.

This is only a draft copy at the moment so could well change

That makes sense. I usually reckon there is a pause anyway in deliveries / new-services while a TOC trains up more drivers. Then a jump in services using the new trains once they have enough drivers to let new units mix in thoroughly. But in the case of 377/6s its more to do with unit length (a parallel is that it would usually be compatibility I suppose). I am assuming there is not that much difference for a driver between a 377 and these 377 lookalikes. Maybe there are significant differences ?. Roll on the platform lengthening.

I do wonder if there are not a few more 4 car diagrams that the 377/6s could work on in the meantime ?. Probably only off peak but then is it worth the hassle of swapping units especially if its nowhere near Selhurst.

Of the ten I think might be in service does that mean there are only now seven left at Selhurst ?. Or are they getting swapped around between Selhurst and Stewarts Lane ?.

Well the current 5-car diagram is the only diagram which was previously a 455 on its own all day, every other diagram involves coupling at some point. I think there are more than 7 at Selhurst, 377614, 619 and 620 are there as well as the units already in service I believe. 377614 was reported as being in service yesterday too.

Can anyone tell me whats on SU907 this morning? Thanks in advance :D

605 was on SU907 earlier (seen going in other direction while waiting for my train this morning)

New temporary stop markers have gone up on many of the recently lengthened platforms and the driver of my 8 car 377 this morning used the 10 car marker so everyone had to run up the platform a bit...

If any 456s needed maintenance work (or were about too) would they presumably be withdrawn early to avoid doing it?

The short platform announcements still being made despite the longer platforms having been in action for as short while. Presumably they need to reprogramme all the on train PIS systems as well as the station based ones which could take a while?

Selhurst seems to have 377615, 17, 19 & 20 reported on test, with 610 & 621 delivered.

377604-607, 609, 611-614, 618 in traffic, if my interpretation of all posts are correct!

Is there going to be a publicity campaign to align with the timetable change and lengthened services or are they going to let users work it out that they might benefit from using a new/different bit of the platform on certain services?
Are Southern going to advertise that services are 10 car on the platform displays?

I am pretty sure East Croydon and West Croydon have been showing the relevant trains as 10 car on the on-platform displays.

And Class377/5 s post (number 534) indicates that they are moving backwards and forwards between Selhurst and Stewarts Lane. So today is seven as usual in service, two usable but tucked away in Stewarts Lane and two usable at Selhurst. Thats 11 that are usable and two more (619 & 617) that might be expected to be used anytime.

I went on a unit in service on a train to Caterham the other day. It was quite a nice experience, although the seats were too upright for me.

620 first day in service isn't it? It's on SU904 East Grinstead services today.

Thanks for the tip - 377620 (with 377613) duly picked up for haulage on the 2349 Victoria to Oxted (from platform 15 at Clapham Junction due to overnight 2-track railway)

Incidentally this was announced at Clapham Junction as 4 coach (like it was before the slight rearrangements to make the duty 10 coach all day) so my heart sank but the extra light on the front confirmed it was 377/6s. I think the doors only opened on 8 coaches as the guard advised passengers to move forward in the last two coaches. It is possible that the programming hasn't been changed for platform lengths yet.
