Driver fault maybe, SPAD for example. It's only a guess though
Wow, why the need to have a bash at rail staff?

I'm not going to speculate but it could have been a whole variety of reasons.

I had a brief ride on 321448 today from Liverpool Street to Stratford and I must say I was very impressed. It certainly had a new train feel about it. Admittedly on that short of the journey there wasn't an opportunity for the door banging at speed which others have pointed out as detracting from the new train feel. The reconditioned 3+2 seating is much better than it is currently. You don't sink in to the seat almost on to the floor. The 2+2 seating, which I believe is the same as the 377/6s is better padded than in the 377/6s and is more comfortable. It would have been better with armrests fitted though, or at least space between the seats rather than having the seats right next to each other and then a huge aisle. The air-conditioning was a bit hot for my liking, but I can forgive that at 07:00 on a cold morning, I expect others appreciated the warmth.

I'm in London tomorrow (14 Jan) and wonder if anyone knows where the demonstrator will be? I can go and see it at Liverpool Street or Stratford.

I've been watching which unit diagrams it has been out on. It's seems Southend is def hogging it as it keeps being out on a Southend return diagram or Ilford diagram.

Thanks for that. Sadly, I was in London slap bang in the middle of those times and couldn't wait until the 1720 departure.

I hope I will be able to get to see this soon though. I did spot the re-painted 365 at Hornsey the other day (in the generic DfT colours) so maybe I'll end up on one of those first!

Judging by the hundreds of frustrated passengers on Shenfield platform yesterday at 1900 and the empty stationary demo set behind them it had just been taken out of service.

Yup. It was involved in some sort of overhead line issue. It's back out today.

yeah last night one of the units in the 12 car it was part of failed and returned to the depot early for rectification. I had a walk through 448 and it was COVERED in smushed up sandwiches, coffee all over the floor and burger king pressed into every gap =/

So it's beginning to feel like all the other 321s after rush hour then......:D

I'm still waiting for Ginger's review of this unit. Obviously this is Abellio's fault and they should be stripped of GA.

This sort of thing turns me into a real snob. I bet the people that do this are the people that join in when there's a commotion about fare increases and the likes. The behaviour of the public disgusts me.

It was at Colchester yard last night, the interior are nice, if maybe a little bright. But I agree it has taken long for ppl to make the floor pretty horrible. If they do that refurb to the whole fleet I think most will be satisfied.

I know right, they are the ones who moan oh how dirty the trains are. Well the rail staff don't go through the train spreading litter about etc, its the passengers who do. The demonstrator has some well placed bins right next to the doors making life easy to discard of your coffee cup or newspaper on the way out, but leaving it on the floor to spill or stuffing it between seats is way easier apparently

I do see rubbish put in places that suggest that someone really thought long and hard on how to be as big a **** as possible.

No doubt when you have a group of people, some of the mess is done as a way to show off and impress. Because chucking stuff on the floor and spreading food/drink on the seats and walls is always going to impress me.

Got a ride on this today by accident as it formed part of the 0653 SNF to LST which is the train before my normal service and was delayed. I think this service originates at Southminster.

Good first impressions. Bright, more space (due to fewer seats) , a bit warm in the door wells where there's no aircon even on a cold morning, the perch seats were nice.

Whilst a little quieter, my coach had a rattly door which I've never heard on a 321 before. It could also do with a coat hook in the alcove next to each perch seat.

Apart from that, very good and the aircon would be a welcome addition in the summer.

It was fine and dandy today. First time as a passenger rather than staff. I like it a lot. Goes to show what you can do with old stock if the will is there. Wish they could jazz up the cab tho....I know there's not much they could do, but an iPod Dock or somewhere to prop & charge the Kindle would be nice!

Yes it was a joke, before anyone from work gets on their high horse.

Never? Unless this is a different rattle, I'm frankly amazed, or you don't travel on 321s very often! :D

Once or twice per weekday......

I guess I should have worded it better. Yes, all of the doors are relatively loose but i'd never heard a rattle to this extent. Definitely a defect rather than a "feature".

It was in Shenfield sidings all day (or at least, it was there at 7:15 when I left and still there at 5:15 when I got back), not Southend. Dunno if that is of interest :)

Thanks for that. I was in the Stratford area yesterday so was hoping it would turn up.

I used to be able to see stuff like that on RTT (disregarding the database crash obviously) but there seems to have been a distinct lack of the 'forms the' links since the update. A small handful of services still show them, but very few.
