AC/DC fans rejoice, Märklin has announced a recreation of the Black Ice locomotive from the tour of the same name with some AC/DC related rolling stock also available. It certainly puts Hornby slapping prints on ancient Triang/Lima wagons into perspective. The stock does come with an equally premium price though - €599.99 for the locomotive and €79.99 for each wagon variant.

I saw this newly announced release from Dapol: a Bulleid Light Pacific (BB + WC) in their Black Label 4mm range. It seems to be of a high spec, outside and inside.
I wonder if Dapol can emulate slipping driving wheels?

I mean, it looks amazing, and absolutely in my era and area (the BoB/WC class that used to run in my area of interest were from Stewart's Lane, Bricklayers Arms and Brighton sheds - both rebuilt and unrebuilt... narrow/wide cabs, 4500/5500G tenders, the lot... though none of their names they mention! 
). The route headcode lighting is amazing as well....
The £399 price tag is a little out of my price range though - I already have a Stroudley E1 and Billington K on pre-order with Rails... :-/

The Black Label marque certainly sets a bar in digital effects.
What I'm keen to see, is how high a bar it sets with the actual fidelity of the model's bodywork and motion.
Dapol's Black Label A4 didn't give me the "wow" that its price inferred.
I am happy with my hoard of Hornby's recent-ish plastic body variant (the four 80th anniversary "Silver" locos / LNER green Woodcock and Golden Eagle (was the HNG special Osprey)).

Looks like the Rapido LBSCR Stroudley E1s might finally make an appearance in short order! I have 32694 on pre order with Rails... Initially placed the pre order in July '22 (!) with Hattons!

So, who's going to pre-order Accurascale's model of 66091 (DB), named last weekend after the model making company (with the nameplate using Accurascale's font, too).
Attached photo I took yesterday, when it passed my locality.
Accurascale's press release, linked, states that: "...a model of 66091 featuring its new name and bespoke detailing will lead the next run of our Class 66 models. These models will be revealed along with the rest of Class 66 Run 3 in Autumn 2025"

Bachmann's announcements today include an E4 and a 2-HAP for Southern modellers, a class 30/31 and a Stanier 8F in OO and a GWR Castle and 150/2 in N.

Today (Wednesday 6th August 2025) we launched our Autumn 2025 British Railway Announcements and made steam dreams come true with a second brand new steam locomotive for the OO Scale Branchline range in the space of a week! Following hot on the heels of the NER E Class (J71) 0-6-0 Tank Locomotive that was launched ahead of The Greatest Gathering, we are delighted to tell you that a brand new model of the Stanier 8F has been developed for the Branchline range.
Continuing the steam theme and the LB&SCR E4 0-6-2 Tank returns to the range this Autumn having been upgraded for sound and four models will be available with optional SOUND FITTED including the sole-surviving E4 in BR guise as No. 32473.
Another model to have been upgraded before its return is the Class 30/31 Diesel, first unveiled in 2024, which now has a Bach-Up Stay Alive system fitted as standard and all-wheel electrical pick-up. Six models will be available including some new liveries not yet offered on the Branchline model, and all come with the option of SOUND FITTED or SOUND FITTED DELUXE – the latter having the revolutionary Auto-Release Coupling system which provides automated, hands-free uncoupling at the press of a single DCC function along with motorised roof fans and tinted driver’s and secondman’s windscreen glazing.
The 2-HAP Electric Multiple Unit (EMU) also joins the Autumn 2025 range with two new livery options, and again for the first time this model will be offered with optional SOUND FITTED.
Joining these mainline locomotives and units is the diminutive Wickham Trolley, with two new versions including a model of Longmoor Military Railway No. WD9033 which found fame in the 1960s film ‘The Great St. Trinians Train Robbery’. OO Rolling stock has a hopper theme this quarter as new versions of the Bulk Grain Wagon and JGA, HHA and HKA Bogie Hoppers will all be available in the near future.
The steam releases are not reserved for OO Scale either, as the Graham Farish range welcomes back the GWR Castle Class locomotive and three new N Scale models will be produced with or without SOUND FITTED.
Continuing the Western theme and the Class 150/2 Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) will be arriving in two new liveries depicting operations in the west of England and Wales, namely GWR Green and Transport for Wales.
Joining the NER P7/LNER Diagram 12 Coal Hoppers that were launched last week are new examples of the 3 Plank Open Wagon which now boast NEM Coupling Pockets for the first time. There are also new versions of the 5 Plank China Clay Wagon, and the BR Carflat joins the Graham Farish range for the first time.
Scenecraft releases for Autumn 2025 have a low relief theme as far as the new N Scale models are concerned, with five low relief dwellings available along with the return of the Sectional Lineside Hut and Highley Station Yard Crane – a timely release as the Autumn 2025 British Railway Announcements video was filmed at the Engine House, also located at Highley on the Severn Valley Railway.
New Scenecraft models for OO Scale include a GWR Standard Station, modelled on Toddington Station on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway, a selection of depot mess and crew rooms, and coal barges and narrow boats to aid anyone modelling a canal or river scene.
There are two new NG7 models from Scenecraft too, with a corrugated engine shed and metal water tank to provide new options for those wishing to create on-shed scenes for their NG7 locomotives.

Just got to get a Blue 2 Hap for sentimental reasons (probably the cheaper one).
Over the nearly 4 years I worked for B.R I seemed to spend an awful lot of time in them.
Home to work and back on the Coastway West between Lancing & Brighton, and between Brighton & Lewes on the Coastway East when relieving the Victoria / London Bridge - Eastbourne / Ore Paper train @ Lewes.
The highlight of being relieved @ Lewes was crossing over to the 2 Hap that had brought the relief crew from Brighton, getting into the warm 1st class compartment, falling asleep on the way to Seaford, during the layover and then back to Brighton's Platform 9.
Happy days.

Rapido has announced a range of Maunsell U Class 2-6-0s... This has been top of OO wishlists for ages.
(I would prefer the U1s... but looking to see if I can justify... they are tricky as there are a load of variations... 31616 would be perfect in BR livery being Redhill and then Norwood in later days - I may have to compare versions to a photo and renumber...)

Good news for modern image N scale ECML modellers. Kato have announced some new stock utilising their existing Class 800 tooling with Class 802s in TransPennine Express and Hull Trains liveries, Class 803 in Lumo livery, and a 9-car GWR Class 800 are all expected to arrive next summer. Available in DC silent, DCC, and DCC sound fitted.

Hornby have just announced a few new items on their YouTube channel (in a video that reeks of AI). Nothing too exciting IMO, but there may be some novelty value in the Police liveried Railroad 37093 "with working blue light and siren"...
