Like i said, i don't think there is a need for a direct St Helens-Bolton service, most passengers from St Helens end most likely use it to Ashton, & the 559 is used more for local journey's on the route rather than anyone going end to end.
Doubt it, no real need for such a route, the only route i could see such route working is by extending the 34 to Bolton, the 582 did have an evening & Sunday extension to Newton Le Willows in the late 80s, but that didn't last long
Daft thing is the previous 2 services 18.09 & 1829 from Liverpool to Moreton run dead from Moreton to the depot, so the 18.49 could easily run dead back to the depot after it arrives in Moreton, no one gets the 19.27 as they get the 38 instead regardless of who the operator is, i know this as i...
I think the 39 St Helens-Newton Le Willows via Burtonwood allows travel throughout the route too, even though Burtonwood is not in Merseyside, the X3 is designed to fail
Not so much a service but a single bus journey which is the 19.27 short journey on the 407 from Moreton Cross to Laird Street, this could easily be withdrawn as a 38 goes around the same time & goes further.
We already have an existing thread to discuss free travel for young people here;
https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/free-bus-travel-for-young-people-soon-to-be-in-england.302597/
Could the MODs can move that discussion to that thread as they sometimes do with other posts?
Anyway, the...
A load of operators had peak surcharges back in the day, but they were not dynamic pricing as it was after a certain stage when peak fare surcharge came into it, which on Merseyside was after 7 stages from where you boarded, stages 1 to 6 where you boarded was the same fare regardless of time of...
Once franchising expands to Liverpool, the Runcorn 61 will still be a commercial route operated by Arriva with a permit to run in Liverpool, it's up to Arriva to change the number should Arriva want to, & no one else, LCR will operate the Bootle 61 but LCR can change the Bootle 61.
There has always been joyriding going back decades, but this new trend is being fuelled by Social Media, were you have idiots driving vehicles even bikes dangerously whilst filming themselves, then uploading what they've done to sites like TikTok...
The 10 minute wait was because the 589, 591 & 592 all connected with each other at Todmorden giving a 30 minute service on each section of the route even if you had to change at Todmorden.
The 7 is included in LCR franchising as it operates from Green Lane depot which is going to be one of the depots in the franchising area when franchising expands to Liverpool next year.
Arriva could still decide to move the 7 to Runcorn should they so wish to, but don't think they will...
It will be the Bootle-Aigburth 61 that changes number (should be to a 161 but hey ho :E) most likely to a 64 or 67, the Runcorn 61 will stay 61, unless Arriva change it.
That read ro me that to me the passenger bought a new ticket close to departure for that service, the driver making things up argued otherwise that the passenger isn't allowed to buy tickets so close to departure which is bs, passenger should make a complaint to NX.
When Liverpool goes to franchising next year, the Stagecoach 82, & 86 will go to Speke, Stagecoach 53 will go to Bootle, & the Arriva 14 will go to Gillmoss won't it?
Marketing, people think buying from the Trainline is cheaper than buying direct from a TOC even when the booking fee is included in the price, when it isn't.
I don't get some of the times & locations of some of the services.
Such as, there's an 170 that goes from Cheshire Oaks to Leeds at 01.45, now that calls at Manchester Airport which is useful for those with an early flight, as check in for flights open from 4am (the coach arrives at Manchester...
