    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

I'm not sure how you can improve the current Birkenhead Bus Station given the location it's in is rather tight, unless they extend the bus station across the car park.

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

The issue with that is it'd be chaos if all the cross river routes called at Birkenhead bus station on the way to Liverpool as the routes only stop at one stand (stand 7), were as the stops are spread out when they come from Liverpool. Birkenhead bus station whilst ok for passengers is not that...

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

Before deregulation buses on the Wirral side of the river used to call/terminate at Seacombe or Woodside & cross river passengers were expected to get the train or ferry across to/from Liverpool, you only had the already mentioned 31/32 & 418/419 along with the all night 94/94A going through the...

    Shocking incident in Telford

Indeed, it happens in my area too, were buses get diverted if they're regularly being put at risk. Whilst operator want's to make a profit driver & passenger safety should be paramount if drivers & passengers are being put at risk then diversions or cancellations are going to happen, & the next...

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

Not unless they route it like the 464/471/472/487, were to Liverpool they go from Borough Road via Argyle Street straight to the tunnel, & they call at the bus station from Liverpool. However i don't see the need to extend the 492/495 to Liverpool, as Birkenhead-Liverpool is busy enough as it is.

Arriva Merseyside & North West 2026 onwards

Looking at bustimes.org the 329 & 360 still interwork with each other rather than the planed 329 interworking with 110, & 360 interworking with X30.

    Bee Network Service/Route Discussion

Had a ride on the 615 last Friday, & think it's my new favourite route in the GM area, some great views between Wigan & Middlebrook, even better now deckers are allocated to the 615.

The 407 extension to West Kirby is a part replacement for the Avon 83/83A after Avon ceased operations in 2018, Arriva did operate the 83/83A afterwards but withdrew it after a few weeks, the 407 was extended to West Kirby a couple of months after the 83/83A was withdrawn in January 19.

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

As for more buses Birkenhead-Liverpool, there doesn't need to be anymore routes through the tunnel as you have 22 buses an hour Birkenhead-Liverpool as it is even after franchising comes in. 1/X1, combined to 3bph 407, 3bph 437, 6bph 464, 2bph 471/472, combined to 6bph 487, 2 bph 1789482690...

My suggestion is retime the Sunday 407 to go 30 minutes later & leave the 438A times as they are.

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

I remember when Arriva did extend the old 495/497 through to Liverpool back in 2003, but that was short lived & only lasted 5 months as no one used it through to Liverpool The 407 new Sunday times is bonkers that shares part of the route with the 38A to be renumbered 438A, but the 407 is timed...

I dislike using Sir Thomas Street as that can be crowded, prefer getting on Cross River routes at Cook Street, i only use Sir Thomas Street when i have too.

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

Just noticed the 414/414A route in Birkenhead, the new route is via Prenton Hall Road, Prenton Lane, Prenton Road West, Prenton Road East, Greenway Road, Derby Road, Whetstone Lane rather than via Woodchurch Road & Borough Road, there's going to be some matchday diversions too when Tranmere...

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

I've previously called for that link to be reinstated, but it should go to West Kirby complementing the 22/22A rather than Thingwall. Note 407 now has an evening & Sunday service, but it's hourly, with additional Sunday Birkenhead-Liverpool shorts, the route in Moreton is Bermuda Road, Town...

    Sunderland 700/701 TUPE dispute

Indeed, kind of reminds me the various run ins with the TC that the notorious Clayton Jones had over the years (i didn't know he died last year) he would have his O' Licence constantly revoked only to set up a new company under a new name a short time later, rinse & repeat.

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

When Wirral goes to franchising in 6 weeks, with most of the routes operating from Laird Street (apart from the 1/X1), what is going to happen with the route interworking, as currently the 407 interworks with the 471/472, the 410 interworks with the 411, the 432/433 interworks with the 437, the...

Station overrun - curious about how 'serious' it is considered

This happened last Friday 4th September were a train overshot the platform at Rhosneigr, train ended up arriving in Holyhead 70 late which caused chaos for a couple of hours, it's not helped that Rhosneigr is a request stop too.

The X2 is operated from Preston depot which is outside the franchising area, whether you like it or not Metro will not be able to do anything about the X2 unless Stagecoach hand it over. Whilst there is a separate 2 Preston-Southport that takes 80 to 90 minutes goes through all the Villages &...
