Audio/visual "next stop" announcements on buses

Arriva Merseyside have annoying announcements when someone presses the bell for the bus to stop at the next stop which is; Bus stopping, followed by, please remain seated until the bus comes to a complete stop, which everyone duly ignores, & so annoying which makes the extra announcement pointless.

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

Having ventured out again today i have a few observations. The Ultroliners seem unreliable at the moment, i saw one with hazards on near Liverpool Airport that should have been on an 89, another one was running inbound 40 minutes late, after departing St Helens 10 late, then an E400MMC (that i...

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

Agreed, how ordinary many people really care what the name is (or what livery the bus is in) they just want a bus to turn up & that's reliable to where they want to go to, this angst over the name is really annoying, when there is far more important other issues with the bus network.

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

That is quite odd one considering a load of passengers use the 329 to Derbyshire Hill Road, as the 31 goes down a slightly different route via Fleet Lane.

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

I know the 320 being every 15 minutes to Ashton with a bus every 30 continuing to Wigan is the standard Monday to Friday timetable, but i wonder if they should have stuck with the school holiday frequency of every 20 minutes through to Wigan with no Ashton shorts until the evening service, as i...

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

Good find, i suspect validity on the whole cross boundary route is whether the route is operated under Metro banner or not why the 34, 157, 320, 322, 352, tickets are valid throughout, were as 61, 329, 612 they're only valid in the Merseyside area as they're not operated by Metro Maybe worth...

Looks like the X3 has had a late route change as this was the original route https://drive.google.com/file/d/1igvZ-5BhD_MdACNXTwpIly0yee92PEJx/view This is now the new route https://merseytravel.adidocdn.dev/timetables/Bus/X3-6Sep26.pdf I went on the X3 yesterday, the 11.59 from St Helens to...

    Liverpool City Region-Bus Franchising

Ticketing is going to be confusing at first for those going between Bluebell Lane/Page Moss to City Centre until Liverpool depots become part of franchising, as you have 8, 9, 10B all operated by Arriva but the 10, 10A is now Metro network, as people will still buy Arriva tickets but they won't...

Why is Edge Hill closed on Sundays?

Doubt it, most would still prefer to change at Lime Street, Edge Hill has that inhospitable feel to it, & Lime street is a lot nicer station to interchange at.

£2 fare cap comes to Scotland:

Would the £2 cap apply to the 500 Glasgow Airport Express, the single fare on that service is £11?

Stagecoach Merseyside Cheshire and South Lancashire

I've seen plenty of Bee Network vehicles at Rock Ferry the last couple of years when i've passed the depot, & Rock Ferry did a lot of stuff for Stagecoach Manchester before then.

    Stagecoach Cumbria and North Lancashire

As they're not Bee Network routes it's more appropriate for this thread Stagecoach operate the 125 from Preston & Chorley depots, & the 555 is operated by Morecambe & Kendal depots, there's a load more examples were a route has a joint operation between depots by the same company.

    Bee Network Service/Route Discussion

The way the 575 & 615 are timed at the Wigan end i thought they'd interwork with each other, & joint operation between depots by the same company still goes on, notably by Stagecoach.

    Caledonian Sleeper

I followed a bit of it on Traksy wondering why i couldn't see anywhere between Carstairs & Glasgow, but 1S26 was showing on the way to Edinburgh, as that section should have shown it as 1B26.

    Bee Network Service/Route Discussion

Having a look on bustimes.org & the 575 is being operated by mostly deckers throughout the route, however an E200 MMC was allocated to a short 575 Bolton-Blackrod service before doing a 576 & now on a 20. I thought the 575 & 615 would interwork with each other but they're not, it seems the 615...

Things in living memory which seem very anachronistic now

I remember some bakeries (think Sayers were culprits too] would sell standard Cornish Pasty's with a side crimp, then would sell a slightly more expensive Pasty calling it, Traditional Cornish pasty, but with a top crimp instead which is a no no, Cornish pasty should be made with a side crimp, a...

Because Halton don't contribute any funding to Merseytravel, why they are staying outside franchising, it's why Merseytravel products are not valid in the Halton area either, even though Halton is in LCR.

Things in living memory which seem very anachronistic now

Remember back in the day when Inter City & some long distance regional services had those window label stickers showing destination & calling points, they were done away with when trains got fitted with LED destination blinds, here's what i'm on about
