How much did rail really cost historically?

I have a 1977 selective prices manual which i scanned and shared Timetable World. I tried to compare some 1977 prices with current ones using the bank of england inflation calculater. Some 1977 prices were quite expensive. I was careful to compare similar ticket types. Sorry if off topic, but...

Could a Red Star Parcels style operation make a return under GBR?

This needs a simple operation. Offer a parcel service for just Euston - Glasgow traffic that is carried on the sleeper. Euston could operate from the old parcels depot above the station with dedicated drop off. Remember KISS. Keep it simple, stupid

Timetableworld.com have a scan of a selective prices manual. You would use the book together with your APTIS machine to issue tickets rare for that ticket office

An emergency mode for toilets is vital. Many people have a very real need for a toilet they can use NOW. How a train with no working toilet passes disability regs i really dont know. The train offering is way worse than car where i can stop at a public loo or even use a hedge.

Why did some operators have number, then 2 destination displays ?

But earlier back loaders showed destination, route number and via points. As did West Yorkshiire road car. All dispensed with late 60's. My bus home displayed Primley Park, but the lower blind showed Staonbeck Lane and King Lane and 70. This was Leeds City Transport days.
