Avanti's computer might decide that you caught the 1254 which arrived at Euston at 1528, which represents a 47 minute delay against your planned itinerary. Even so that would be correct for delay repay purposes as you arrived at 1514.
I have one issued a long time ago. Not quite sure when, but it is in a wallet containing a Network Card with expiry date 26 JLY 96 and a One Day Travelcard dated 22 JLY 96. I think I got the photocard to go with a weekly season ticket.
Slightly off topic, but my main gripe on connection times is the MCT between Wigan Wallgate and Wigan North Western which means that a connection achievable by a normal able-bodied person from an arrival at the former to a departure at the latter, e.g. arrive WGW (from Southport) at 12.03...
This incident is still not a "Major Disruption" on the Northern web site. You can find it in "Other Updates" in the "Good Service" section after scrolling past eight routes which probably do have a good service!
It seems that as a side effect of this incident both Bescar Lane and New Lane AHBC crossings were, and probably still are, closed to road traffic. Barriers down.
A couple of years ago two other user worked crossings along the line, Crabtree and Shaw's, were closed for vehicle traffic to...
A few notes from a thread I posted in 2019 regarding the Bett's Lane crossing which is the next UWC crossing from this incident:-
There are public crossings nearby at New Lane (AHBC) at 28m 70ch, Martins Lane (UWG/MWL-X) at 29m 70ch and Boundary Farm (footpath at 30m 02ch) crossings. Martin's...
I see what National Rail are saying. Normally one train every 2 hours each way on Sundays. On Northern Rail's website this incident is not listed either as Major Disruption or a Minor Disruption. A points failure between Morecambe and Lancaster is a Major Disruption. I have a live departure...
It seems that the OP has a habitual round trip journey for which he travels into London from Farnborough by train, and returns to a nearby town by coach. He therefore wanted the most cost effective way of achieving the rail part of this, and his searches found the "reverse direction" return...
The likely reason you have been reported is that you declined the invitation to buy a valid ticket, when you were holding a non-valid ticket. That was your decision, possibly a poor one. Did you give your correct name and contact details. If so the next thing will be that in a few weeks you will...
I just wanted to draw the OP's attention to the deficiency of Northern's paper based claim system. It is unlikely that the elderly mother using the paper based form will be happy with any of the methods offered, unless there is a staffed Northern station nearby from which to collect the cash...
I cannot recommend this method, because Northern do not offer an electronic payment method if you submit a claim form in the post. I discovered this a couple of years ago when trying to assist a non computer user friend of mine.
This is what they offer:
• Cashable voucher - this can be exchanged...
A few years ago I accompanied a friend with her sick child from Southport to Alderhey Hospital. MerseyRail to Bootle Oriel Road then bus to the hospital. When we were on the bus, my friend realised she had left her bag with various important possessions, including mobile phone, on the train...
I normally submit the DR Claim to the first TOC which contributed to the delay, along with the intended itinerary and the actual delay incurred.
Most recently on 23 April using an Off-Peak Return I was delayed on the 13.43 Liverpool Lime Street to Euston with final destination Billericay. This...
Just scoping out a trip from Southport to Birmingham International for 10 August. An Off-Peak Single is e-ticketable and costs £33.10.
It would be valid on the itinerary departing SOP at 12.06, changing at Sandhills, Liverpool SP, and Birmingham New St, and is offered for that itinerary on the...
Here's a souvenir from 30 years ago.
I have my BR issued Photocard to support this Network Card. I wonder if it would be valid nowadays. I do have a lot less hair now.
Although this has been through the court system without your knowledge, and you could use a Statutory Declaration to have it reset and have the case dealt with again, the fees you might pay to a specialist solicitor would likely be more than the amount which you now owe, you will almost...
Looking at the Forum's ticketing site, there's a decent saving to be made even for tomorrow's date. Advance Single Honiton on the 11.55 to Salisbury and an Evening Out Single on the 13.33 Salisbury to Southampton. Just realise I'm assuming pricing a single journey. Presumably you super off-peak...
