Thanks for that! I’m astonished that it’s so busy, been travelling on this service (primarily INV - EDI) for decades and never known it to be sold out, even on six-nations days etc.

I was trying to book Inverness to Edinburgh in First Class on this date - but First is ‘unavailable’. It can’t be sold out - can it…? Could it be blocked out for another reason? Maybe for participants & crew of “Traitors” or something?

I was just about to post similar. I’m starting to wonder just how safe the canopy there is. It’s already an absolute sieve in the rain and one of the footbridges from platform 4 to 3 in particular looks like it’s held together with pigeon **** and rust.

I visited Morecambe last year and was surprised at how … modest the station was. For a fair-sized town and a popular day trip place I thought the platform felt like a bus stop.

That could well be the case - but I’m sure that there was a little section of track (somewhere!) that stopped the sleeper from being withdrawn.

No full cooked breakfast currently available on the Highland Chieftain. I was told it was because a chef has retired and they are having trouble recruiting a replacement. Hardly the end of the world, just another little disappointment in today’s rail travel.
