I was on the (170) 17:10 from Perth to Inverness last night. We passed what seemed to be a reconditioned HST (saw at speed from the corner of my eye) just south of Stanley. I suppose this would have been the 15:18 from Inverness.

Just noticed two foreign women miss their stop because they didn’t know how to open the doors on the Classic. As the tourist season gets into full swing I can see this becoming a bit of an issue.

They certainly used to reserve seats in the lounge car until very recently. I walk past the sleeper often getting off another train in Inverness.

I was going to suggest Perth too. Platforms 1&2 (Glasgow / Dundee Aberdeen) is through a little passageway from the bulk of the station. The platforms are open and look better cared for than the other 5 platforms which are enclosed under increasingly dilapidated canopies.

Indeed it is. I’m on it. Currently running 20 mins late and terminating at Perth. Passengers being put on the 16:06 Per -> Wav. (Delay due to being held at Carrbridge because of a late running freight train).
