I have not been on a Class 800 so I cannot give my opinion of them. Not yet anyway. I love the HST 125 lovely seating, lovely Interiors and they give a comfortable ride. Should`nt they have have Ironed out problems first after all those miles of testing, or did`nt they have Air Conditioning on...
I have a e-mail which came today. I asked GWR how many carriages will these new Hitachi trains have going down to the West Country. Answer was 10 carriages which is an increase from what the HST are operating which was 5. Now I thought that HST have 7 or 8 carriages on them. Overall It will...

Damn good Idea. :DNever liked them...
Just another point about these Hitachi trains. I sent a e-mail to FGW about the length of trains and I got a answer today. It said that the coaches will be between 10 and 12 coaches long. It was a short e-mail as you can guess. Just thought I give this information to you.
The Prime Minister said In PMQ last Wednesday that the Hitachi trains will be built In Britain, not Japan, giving 700 new jobs to the north east. I thought they were built In Japan and shipped over here, or have I got It wrong?
Can someone tell me that HST on FGW which are currently 7 car mostly 8 car, are the trains now going to be 5 car with some 10 car when Class 800/801 trains are introduced. How is 5 car going to increase capacity? Why can`t they have 8 car Class 800/801 trains?
Just to tell you that a brand new cam is at Dawlish. Its the Blenheim cam(no sound) ,:( and the original cam is now called San Remo Cam(with sound):D. Both are free until sunday.
