New Dawlish Webcam.

Just to tell you that a brand new cam is at Dawlish. Its the Blenheim cam(no sound) ,:( and the original cam is now called San Remo Cam(with sound):D. Both are free until sunday.

Do you realise how much (expensive) bandwidth an HD webcam requires?! :shock:

The only way to make it 'free' would be to plaster the site with
vast numbers of annoying adverts which would distract from
the trains themselves - then people would be asking when it
was going back to being ad free "like the good old days":lol:

They seemed to manage it beforehand.

Just as I enjoy something they start charging for it.

Anyhow, this site uses adverts which are unobtrusive enough most of the time. Better than having to pay.

Incidentally, I'm one of the few people who pays for a newspaper, precisely because I don't want to see journalism destroyed. However that is an industry with a lot more labour costs than a webcam.

I don't mind paying, but when a bus replacement is in operation I expect a camera on the A379.
