I've put together a plan for an outing in early February.
I mostly plan this to do the new Ouigo service, which takes in some route I haven't done.
Anyone any thoughts or knowledge about potential problems.

I've recently come back from abroad and 'spotted' a lot of German ET x.xx units.
Now home and just received a P5 German book, but it contains no reference to ET numbers!
ET 7.07 for example looks like it is a class 429, but I can find to correlation between the ET and EVN.
Later on in my holiday...
I've bought a Global pass for a trip in July, and I'm using it to get from Manchester down to London (for free), to catch the Eurostar the following morning.
Am I right to assume that I can travel anywhere in the UK for the day using my pass, rather than buy a 1-6 local rail pass, which I...
I was on the 06:26 service this morning.
RTT listed it as 06:27 to crewe, and also separately as the 07:09 Crewe to Cardiff.
I could see no difference in reality, as the boards at Picc still had the trip as the regular Picc-Cardiff service.
Any explanation?
Hover Travel allow use of through tickets for travel on their hovercraft.
I've asked their website and got back an unintelligable answer.
Does anyone here know if an ALR is valid on Hover Travel to/from Isle of Wight, so that I can get the island line done?
I've been visiting the capital a few times a year recently and this time decided to go for a stay over.
I got a nice hotel backing onto Earl's Court tube station. So really well situated and only £44 inc breakfast (but I left before they served).
This is the report from day one (Wednesday) and...
Here are my trips from my recent journey from 1 July to 7 July.
A couple of trips in new classes and plenty of new haulages and new lines.
A very pleasant, although a bit tiring, 7 days out.
I've just treated myself to (hopefully) a last yahoo down to StP on the HSTs in a couple of weeks on Monday.
I'll arrive around 9am and head north on the 2001, so plenty of time in the capital to see some new stuff.
I'm open to ideas of where to go, but I was hoping for some kind of day rover...
I've travelled around recently on trains with this requirement, and never been asked for proof (having made reservations).
I'm soon to be going on an East Mids 3 in 7 and would like the freedom to jump on whatever looks promising.
XC trains appear to all by compulsory as far as I can tell, and...
A week ago on Sunday, me and the grandson were out and about on various trains within the ranger's boundary.
After arriving at Huddersfield, a 185 that the lad needs for haulage pulls in on a Manchester-Sheffield diversionary.
We got on expecting no trouble, but sometime later the guard does his...

Me and my eight-year-old grandson spent the time between Xmas and new year getting some new lines and new haulages for us both. (*new for both - † new for grandson)

I'm going to be up in Scotland in March and was looking into bits of new track to cover.
This service doesn't cover any new line for me, but I came across this interesting XC move.

Locally, I can go from Manchester Piccadilly to Stockport with…

Any other two stations beat that?
(Sorry if already done, I couldn't find one)
After being 80 minutes late from Warrington to Manchester last month, I received a free return ticket from Northern for a day's travel.
Wishing to get the most for my 'money', had a look Manchester to Newcastle or maybe Manc to Lincoln as a possible way for decent mileage or to jump on the most...
