Here’s a story I did for YorkMix Radio and Online. Some great CGI brings trains back to the old East Coast Main Line. Thanks to Dave Thorp for the footage

Recently been using this line a lot and it’s brought back memories of going to school on it in the late 70s. It wasn’t electrified then so was wondering what information forum members had about services then. I remember semi-fast local trains calling only at Woolston Netley and Swanwick as well...

A film maker from York, Dave Thorp, has allowed Minster FM to share this amazing CGI with you. If you are a regular on the York to Selby cycle track you may not be aware it used to be...

The Derwent Valley Light Railway in York has been featured in a Christmas
video for The People's Soprano Rebecca Newman. It's a lovely little operation just outside York and the Staff and Volunteers were so helpful during two nights filming back in early November...

For someone who went to secondary school in southampton by train in the late 70s the thought of that area getting Overheads is still quite amazing . So , because I had far too much time on my hands and an old copy of trainz2006 i thought hmmmm what would a cab ride look like post 2019 ...
Came across some work going on at Scarborough Bridge over the River Ouse today. Passers by wondering why legs and boots were dangling from under the bridge. Was told that Network rail were monitoring how the bridge was when heavy steam and loco hauled trains were going over it...
I love this little station on the East/North Yorkshire border. Especially on a hot day when the tracks on the long straight from Barlby to Brough give off a heat haze.
Couldn't find any footage of it on Youtube so have put that right
Hope you enjoy a bit of Wressle'ing action...
Just wondering if there was any interest in having a thread which mentions the new locations of the led signals that are cropping up all over the place. They seem to be sprouting like daffodils in spring . Anyway we will soon find out if there's any interest :D
York
Platform 10 and 9 Northbound
I am interested in how many members actually live by the line or can see the railway from their house. I used to own a property north of York which was 10 feet from the east coast line. It took a few months to get used to the 24/7 traffic flows and engineering work was a bit of a nightmare noise...
Tuesday 22/11/11 Leeds station 1529 Leeds to Poppleton .
Turned up at Platform 5c at Leeds to find a 2 car pacer doing an impression of a circle line tube train at rush hour. Service was missing another 2 coaches and there was a load of people trying to get on . Have to say that the...
I have just got back from a filming trip in East Anglia which was nothing to do with railways . however with a spare day on saturday I took a trip on National Express . Just wanted to say that the staff on the trains and stations (Diss Norwich Cromer Line) were very friendly and helpful.
