How many places are there in the UK where you have lines out of use but the track is still there .
And are these lines used by walkers either legally or illegally .
I can think of one example , the Hamble Oil line nr Southampton . Also up until 2004 the Wensleydale Line was used by walkers...

Given the fact that once again Shrewsbury is to be without direct trains to London I am interested in forum members views on how important these services are. It does seem to a bit hit and miss of late . Is it right that every major town in North Yorkshire apart from Scarborough is now London...
I am curious to know under what circumstances these new searchlight colourlight signals are installed in various locations . I noticed that Barnham has been resignalled again (although it may have been a while ago , dont do Soton to Brighton very often ) Yet further down the coastway line...
