looking to drive down the M1 to a car park (and ride?) north London ish tomorrow (28th march 23) with a view to getting train / tube to arrive in south London 1 o clockish. all advice gratefully received.
went to the tvm today to buy a ticket PNS DBD as above, but there was no railcard option for s yorks senior pass.
my understanding is that penistone - denby dale comes under south yorkshire. this is something of a hardy perennial, but haven't seen any discussion of it referencing the senior...
I'm travelling in s. yorks. tomorrow and going to get a SYConnect+ day ticket. I'm seeing conflicting information about where to buy one: do northern rail guards sell them on the train? plan b is to take a short bus journey and buy one on the bus - I'm out in the back of beyond...
I have a std off peak return, the out portion "valid until 04 Sept". I need this to be valid on the 5th as no point me even attempting the journey on the 4th owing to the northern strike. The return portion is ok as is. route is "any permitted", validity "as advertised".

National Rail Enquires is telling me that an off peak return Penistone to Seascale is good for travel from Penistone at 8:18am. That doesn't sound right to me, I would welcome comments.
doing this in early sept, ideally arriving middayish. nre planner comes up with reasonable route via Manchester, but I'm thinking Penistone - Barnsley - Leeds - Lancaster - Barrow in Furness - Seascale would be a nice run. would this mean buying tickets Penistone - Leeds and Leeds - Seascale?
