    Chris Hughes R.I.P

    Chris Hughes, of Mastermind and Eggheads fame has died aged 77, When I was a Guards Instructor at Ilford RTC, he joined BR as a Guard and then became a Driver, really nice bloke and although we were a little apprehensive about training him he was no problem at all.

    I was advised by an XC Train Manager that safeguarded ex BR staff were no longer able to upgrade to Weekend First on XC services using either free travel or priv tickets does anyone know if this is correct and when it was implemented if it is?

    Why is Prittlewell station closed on Sundays

    I have been asked why PRL is closed on Sundays, I thought there was a clause when the line was built insisted upon by the landowner that the station stay closed on Sundays but that could just be an urban myth. It does open occasionally when SUFC are at home on a Sunday. thanks in advance Glyn
