I have noticed a trend to only recruit trainee train drivers, you very rarely if ever see TOC's recruiting qualified drivers any more.
Why is this? the cynic in me thinks they just don't want drivers who are maybe set in their ways or the old school BR driver bringing attitudes that they spread...

Whenever you apply for a qualified driving position they always ask for your B1 form ie safety of the line form, is it only your TOC that holds this information or is it on a national database and if it is on a database why don't they just look it up rather than asking you to submit it to them?
