Would it be possible to travel from one London Terminal to another and visit all of them, without using the Underground, using only National Rail, in a terminal–connection–terminal–connection–terminal… journey?
(Ideally, with the journey into a Terminal and the journey back out on separate...
Asking for a friend who will be visiting Wales in April together with her mother.
They will be arriving at Manchester Airport on Tue 20.04. at 0925 and travelling to Caernarfon, so by train as far as Bangor or possibly Llandudno Junction (LLJ) and then on by bus.
Their return flight will...
Is it possible to reserve seats online (e.g. through a web page or app), or at least by email or over the phone?
I'm in Germany, so by the time I'm actually in England and have access to a UK ticket office it'll probably be too late -- if I remember correctly, you can only reserve seats until...
Hello, I will be travelling from Manchester Airport (MIA) to Bangor (BNG) and back in March, splitting tickets at Flint (FLN): I have an off-peak return MIA-FLN and another off-peak return FLN-BNG, both in standard class.
On the way back, I will probably be taking the Virgin Trains service...
I was wondering which ticket comes closest to approximating an All-Line Rover by virtue of allowing break of journey and a network of permitted routes that together cover as much as possible of the country. (With the proviso, admittedly, that you can't travel back and forth the way you could on...
There are special through tickets enabling the user to travel on FGW from places in Cornwall to Bodmin Parkway and then continue on by the Bodmin and Wenford Railway and return, for example this one from Truro.
Do such tickets permit break of journey on the outward and/or return portion...
If I buy an Advance ticket from A via B to C routed "TOC X & Connections", where A-B is via TOC X (reserved) and B-C is via an unreservable train on TOC Y, are the following possible?
a) Change at B to the Y train printed on the connection? (obviously possible)
b) Change at B for the first Y...
What is "doughnutting"?
Is that like (or the same as) dumbbelling, i.e. travelling A-B-----C-D and purchasing only A-B and C-D tickets, to be able to pass the barriers at A and D while saving money compared to the full A-D fare?
Does anyone have a picture of an RTV they can post here?
I'm curious what they look like.
Google Images only showed me a picture of a huge collection of RTVs, too small to make out the individual ones; the remainder of the images for "rtv" or "rtv rail travel voucher" seemed irrelevant...
What is the highest (non-season) fare in Britain?
Presumably a First Anytime non-Day Return between two distant points?
And what are the highest First Single, Standard Return, and Standard Single fares?
(And what's the lowest fare? Though I think there was a thread on that once, "fares...
What is the "Scottish Belt"? (Or something like that; I may be misremembering the name.)
Is it the routes between Glasgow and Edinburgh?
Just the one through Carstairs or everything with a region bounded by something like Glasgow Queen Street - Falkirk High - Edinburgh Waverley - Carstairs...
I had booked a Eurostar ticket as part of a London-Spezial ticket from Deutsche Bahn, and wanted to buy a ticket from Horsham to London to connect with it.
I had first called the Eurostar number listed in the forum FAQ but didn't manage to get through. I then tried the general Eurostar number...
What is the furthest walk to change trains at "one" station -- that is, where the stations of the two lines are far enough apart that it feels nearly like two separate stations that just happen to have the same name?
Using regular signed connection pathways, on foot (i.e. no going out of your...
I live in Germany but will be visiting the UK in April.
Can you give me a short summary of the various UK supermarket chains?
For example, which ones tend to be cheaper, which ones more expensive? Which ones sell only food, which ones have a variety of non-food products? Which ones tend to...
http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=MAN&dest=LNE&grpo=0438&ldn=1&tkt=EVS say, in part:
That says Eurostar several times, but it does also mention ticket from London to a Continental destination via Rail/Sea.
Does this include the DutchFlyer ticket from Any AGA Station to Any NS...
For tickets which are routed ✠ANY PERMITTED and which are valid for multiple days and which permit break of journey: is the cross-London transfer restricted to a specific day during the validity?
For example, an Anytime Return (SOR) from Brighton to Leeds is valid for five days on the...
In trying to optimise the cost of a ticket from Horsham (HRH) to London Liverpool Street (LST) which would be valid on the Underground from Victoria to Liverpool Street (or at least to Moorgate), I got the tip of buying a ticket to Caledonian Road & Barnsbury (CIR).
I now see that tickets...
Which FGW routes are regularly operated by Pacers of some description? Whether exclusively or during certain times of the day.
Particularly routes in Cornwall or Devon.
Thanks!
I had considered taking the "Dutch Flyer" on Sun 26 April.
However, looking into the next few weeks, it seems that there are rail replacement busses on the route towards Harwich, meaning train to Billericay, then bus to Manningtree, then train to Harwich.
Greater Anglia only show planned...
