I have an advance ticket from East Croydon to Norwich on Friday 2nd June. I intend to travel, but part of my journey isn't running due to the strike, so I wanted to ask for advice on my rights to travel via an alternative route for that part.
The ticket is a Greater Anglia & Connections...
I'm not sure if anyone's talked about Simutrans here before. It's similar to OpenTTD in some ways, but it allows for deeper simulation of networks in some respects.
Anyway, here's a video talking about a map simulating the British rail network in the Experimental version of Simutrans...

This is reflective of the concern that if the coalition u-turns on rail price increases it is likely to also quietly decimate rail investment -- or...
I've found it very difficult to find decent info on the Central Line's online. The District Line's Wikipedia page gives a list as follows:

Many thanks!
Pulling into Leeds yesterday I saw (I think) an EMT 156 (destination blind: Spalding) coupled to an EMT 158 hanging around outside the western end of the station. Anybody know what they're doing so far north?
I'm sat on the 1342 Manchester to Hull, which is being worked by a 185. I thought these units weren't allowed to travel to Hull? I've certainly never seen one work this route before.
I'm booked on the 0745 from Manchester Pic to Edinburgh tomorrow as part of an advance TPE & connections ticket to Aberdeen.
I'm interested in what happens if the 0745 is cancelled (or my connection into Piccadilly is delayed), because the next TPE service from Pic to Edinburgh isn't until...
A quick question for anyone in the know:
Which evening peak TPE Leeds-Manchester services are diagrammed for 2x185 (2x170) rather than just a single unit? I've recently started commuting this route a couple of times a week and would like to avoid the crush where possible. I've only seen one...
1. The 22:00 Euston to Manchester is set-down only at Tamworth, Lichfield, Stafford, Crewe, and Stockport, but not at Nuneaton. I don't understand the motivation for these restrictions -- why not allow this service to be an additional late-night service from Crewe/Stockport to Manchester...
I wonder whether anybody is in a position to give an informed answer to this question:
During a normal daytime off-peak period, how many passenger trains are operating on the UK rail network at any one time?
Would be interested to hear estimates, informed guesses, or indeed official figures!
