Speed limiters on new build cars

my limiter is a pain (Thanks Peugeot). You have to click the thing 10 times to change 10mph. Why. Are there any 35mph speed limits? It is an old car tho. one click for each 10 mph would do it.

    Delay repay. Do you bother?

Do you take time to claim delay repay? Is there a threshold between 'cant be bothered' and making the claim? One wonders how much delay is never reclaimed.

Signalling a train into the wrong platform where there's no room - is this classed as an operational incident?

Maybe busy terminal platforms need CCTV for the signaller to see whats occuring.

    Double headed locos.

With all the BR classes with blue star coupling code some ecclectic mixes were possible. Cl20+Cl45 for instance. It must have been quite clever to make locos with such diverse characteristics work together. This link to wiki has some stuff about multiple operation and also lists classes by...

Speed limiters on new build cars

Limiting speeds in a 30 zone is more important than on the motorway imho. But that wont stop the prats who accelerate and brake hard in traffic for no good reason.

    Manchester-Clitheroe services...why never beyond?

The S&c had very few passenger trains pre 1985. It was mostly full of unfitted freights.

    Manchester-Clitheroe services...why never beyond?

quite. there is a bit of freight. Including trains from Helwith Bridge reversing at Blea Moor currently. Pity the poor shunter doing the coupling/uncoupling in typical Blea Moor winter weather!

Do some vic line trains still terminate at 7 sisters and victoria? Is there scope for reduced mileage there?

    Manchester-Clitheroe services...why never beyond?

So reversing trains there during the day is a no-no then. Unless its a very quick turn round.

Thanks. I reckon ribblehead terminators reverse in the up goods line.

Minor things on trains which irritate you

I think the people who specify and design trains must have old data about the size of people. We are definitely taller than people were in the 50's and many many people are wider. changing diets is the cause, I believe.

    Manchester-Clitheroe services...why never beyond?

They could turn round at Settle Jct (Like they do in winter). or Blea Moor. I suspect Garsdale can turn trains. but I bet most would be wanting to get off at Settle or horton. and those that dont can change onto a Leeds - Carlisle train.
