    Rambling Roebuck... (Trip Reports)

No trips to report; instead, I've been catching up on the "bookwork", and in particular trying to work out mileage and get all moves possible on my spreadsheet. This is hampered by poor recording, particularly pre 1984, and also missing records for 2003/04/05 in particular. I'm starting to...

    55013's Contemporary Trip Reports

Apart from D6983 (scrapped when I was 3 months old!), and 37075 (waiting for me to visit the KWVR  ) 37062 is the only 37 I've not seen. You're not the only one who's jealous...

    Around Britain by Rail

This is something I've thought of trying myself. I worked out a provisional route a couple of years ago. It was a bit more convoluted than the original post, used buses to fill such gaps as Dumfries to Stranraer, Largs to Wemyss Bay, Cleethorpes to Skegness and Kings Lynn to Sheringham amongst...

    Juliano's World Frenzy/Tech's Trip Reports

A couple of excellent days there. Good luck with the "missing" 170... Agree to.differ on doner meat pizza, but then I don't particularly care for pepperoni either. Too greasy. Pizza of choice is hot chilli beef/lamb - keema, onions and lots of chili pepper. Agree to agree, though, on the deep...

    Juliano's World Frenzy/Tech's Trip Reports

A couple of.good days there, with some high quality locos. And the usual high quality write up. Looking forward to the rest, although I hope you find different food. Sorry, but doner meat pizza is just wrong...:-)

    55013's Contemporary Trip Reports

Some good reading and nostalgia on this thread! My first 37 was 37219, piloting 45132 up Old Hill bank from Worcester to Birmingham on the Plymouth to Glasgow sleeper on 4/5/85. Rather noisy...:-) Best remains the flame emitting 37175 on the West Highland line about six weeks later, though.

    Railroving 1970s – 1990s

Excellent reports, with the usual nostalgia for those I scored and those I missed. I agree that the front seat of a DMU provided an excellent view; however in the late 1970s/early 1980s blinds internal blinds were kept lowered 99% of the time in the Manchester area. "Chronicles of Napier"...

Shack Attack 2016 (The Hammerhead Strikes Back)

Kite, congratulations from me also. Quinn - largest/busiest unvisited would be Gatwick Airport. Smallest NR cisited probably Conon Bridge, although Nappers Halt on the South Devon Railway probably wins overall.:D

    Rambling Roebuck... (Trip Reports)

7/10/2016. An Unadumbrated Wayfarer. Like before, I'd spotted the gen of a required skip on the Pauper's WAG. So I went out to hunt it down... First was the usual cooked breakfast, Shelley B's cafe making a change from, and an improvement on, Spoons. Then ticket bought and away. A high note...

    Rambling Roebuck... (Trip Reports)

Been catching up.with updating records, and the red pen came out twice! Firstly, I hadn't spotted.that Metrolink tram 3110, which took.me home at the end of my SVR trip in May was a.winner. I have now, and as a.cosequence.am.now down to three trams... Secondly, I wanted to double...

    Rambling Roebuck... (Trip Reports)

Three little trips Not full.day bashes, but may be of interest... 22 September 2016 - an adumbrated wayfarer The plan was to do a Manchester Wayfarer, picking up a few shacks and (hopefully) a few winners. Dud tram 3112 took me up to Rochdale station, then 158842 into Manchester...

    Railroving 1970s – 1990s

Fascinating read, with some old friends sampled for haulage. I had a quick look at the Chronicles of Napier website - your unidentified Deltic on 23/5/79 was probably 55003 on the 18:05 Kings Cross to York.

    Northern Rail - Now't ever changes !

Agreed. That's my view too. Northern do a pretty decent job, on the whole.

    Noddy's Trip Reports

What a smashing tour! Agree with you re 66s. Not desperately exciting, and I won't deliberately chase them, but happy enough if one turns up (at a gala, for instance). Did the Brewery Curve in 1978 behind 40042...:-)
