Its worth following Nick/Shredder on Facebook for the classic guitar photos as well as the railway ones...:-)

    Rambling Roebuck... (Trip Reports)

Jam.served, and.an anomaly corrected (6/12/2016) Fate, and the vagaries of real life sent me into Manchester today. I had meetings at 11:00 and 14:00, so hopefully would have time for a little bash in between! The morning's moves were: 158758 Rochdale to Manchester Victoria 3096 + 3073...

Shack Attack 2016 (The Hammerhead Strikes Back)

3/12/16 Trafford Park. (Actually wanted to be there, at a time suitable for the two-hourly service. A special satisfaction in warping real life to one's shack needs...)

So...who's planning their 2017 trips yet?

Looks an interesting trip. Will.the walking bit be "Ullswater by Moonlight" or.along the High Street ridge?

    FQ's trips around the globe

An entertaining read, as ever. Congrats on the Class 254 DMLV :-) Might have to try the chippy at Haymarket some time, not had deep fried pie for yonks. One thing, though - I suspect your sleeper went through Newton, rather than Nelson...

    Mileage Competition 2016

A simple out and back trip to Thornaby for this month's quiz fixture takes me up to 10888 for the year. No winners, unfortunately...

So...who's planning their 2017 trips yet?

Various possibilities for me: I'd like to continuing whittling down the bits of track I need, but still chase winners and shacks. In order of appeal, perhaps: East Anglia. Kings Lynn, Stansted Airport, Clacton, Sudbury, Braintree for track, 37/68/90 to bash, oodles of shacks. Kent. Need...

    1st ALR 7 Days. November 2016

I thoroughly enjoyed reading that report, and didn't miss the train numbers (despite being one who sprinkles them liberally on my own reports). Your theory of alarms rings a bell with me. I'm another who sets for 6:53, 7:08 or 7:14 rather than on the hour. Something else that stikes a chord is...

Old and new bashing trips by Cowley

I calculate that you've had approximately 470 duffs/strummers/joes/spoons. That's about 300 more.than me, and.an excellent achievement. My collection of them is very hit and miss. It includes 47374, by all accounts a rare bird, but doesn't include any of the 47555s! :-) And there are quite a...

    FQ's trips around the globe

You might if you sent it on the link just outside the station to the ECML, and then got it to turn left at Retford...:-)

    55013's Contemporary Trip Reports

Nice report, and well done on hitting your targets. Your.mentioning that there are 74 original members of the class 357 gives me an idea to make them a bit less tedious to chase. There were also 74 members of a far more rateable class, back in the day. So if you subtract either 356001 or...

Old and new bashing trips by Cowley

Only ever did an Exeter St David's to Central return once, but the downhill was a a outrageously lucky "fall-on". In order to save paths from Salisbury to Exeter, any light engine trips were often attached to the front of a passenger working, and I ended up on one...:-) The date was 11/4/85...

Old and new bashing trips by Cowley

A most interesting and amusing thread. To add my two pennorth to various topics mentioned: 1. The 37fest at Wymondham in 2010. Did this in the middle of an ALR, and scored 37029/275/518/601 and 97301. An excellent day ...:D 2. Thrashworthy preserved lines. The KWVR is quite steep, and...
