GTR Southern Shere TVMs being replaced by Scheidt & Bachmann TVMs.

Print quality from the 5 machines I've used so far is comparable to the usual S&B quality. I haven't seen any particularly awful examples yet, but I'm sure they will come in time!

GTR Southern Shere TVMs being replaced by Scheidt & Bachmann TVMs.

I have heard anecdotally that this is the case. One machine was installed at Worthing today. The cash and card Shere in the ticket office was marked as out of service this morning; by 1700 a new S&B was in, and was already on ticket number 00037.

GTR Southern Shere TVMs being replaced by Scheidt & Bachmann TVMs.

Latest update on new machines: Shere FASTticket still in place at Brighton, Worthing, Preston Park (Up platform machine), Hassocks (both sides), Burgess Hill (Down side), Coulsdon South (machine outside station), East Croydon, Birkbeck and Littlehampton as of this weekend. No further changes at...

GTR Southern Shere TVMs being replaced by Scheidt & Bachmann TVMs.

I collect tickets by machine number. Looks like I suddenly have a big task ahead of me (again)!! I've obtained tickets from four of the new machines so far. Looking at the spread of machine numbers (4259 @ Aldrington, 4626 @ Shoreham-by-Sea), it suggests that if there are no gaps in the...

GTR Southern Shere TVMs being replaced by Scheidt & Bachmann TVMs.

As of today, all four Shere FASTticket machines are still in place and operational at Worthing. Three of the four at Hove are still in use, but the machine outside the station was being decommissioned yesterday evening (it's still standing there though). The first new S&B I spotted was at East...

Ticket Offices and Ticket Machines at Heathrow Airport.

That's true; in my collection I've got examples from HEATHROW T5 to Rainham (Essex), Brockley, Honor Oak Park and Forest Hill. Perhaps all destinations within the Travelcard zones are available?

Ticket Offices and Ticket Machines at Heathrow Airport.

I haven't seen them myself, but I have been told that there are National Rail Parkeon self-service machines as follows (I have seen tickets from some of them): - "Heathrow Central" (presumably close to the Heathrow Express station as per fandroid above): two card-only and two ToD-only -...

    Super Commuters

I'm grateful for my short commute from Hove to Worthing - as little as 11 minutes on the best train :D One of my friends had to commute from Haywards Heath to Cheltenham Spa for a while a few years ago (not every day though). I had a look through my extensive collection of APTIS Season...

    APTIS Local Program Cards

An obscure technical question which sits somewhere between "General Discussion", "Fares Advice and Policy" and "Railway History and Nostalgia"! Please move if appropriate. Can anybody familiar with the APTIS ticket issuing system help with decoding some fields on the attached scan? I have...

TfL bus stops outside of London

This prompted me to have a look through some photos from July 2013, when I was wandering around in deepest Surrey with the help of Route 465 and a Travelcard. Just visible next to the bus I got off in Mickleham is a standard design TfL bus stop with roundel... (sadly the pub had not yet opened...

    Crews Hill Travelcard Query

My own lists of ticket issuing locations indicate that Crews Hill has not had a TVM since mid-2009, when a short-lived Shere FASTticket machine was removed (I think due to vandalism, as alluded to earlier).

    BBC Trainspotting Live

For anybody following the accompanying live blog at http://www.bbc.co.uk/events/ec55v2/live/c5v2fx, some highlights from my ticket collection feature at the 8.42pm point (they have called me an "expert" ... far too kind!) :D

    New Ticket Design Launched

Very interesting. Are these from the new Fujitsu STAR-derived mobile devices I had read about a while ago (http://www.fujitsu.com/uk/news/pr/2015/fs-20150617.html)? The tickets look to be a funny size - not very convenient for carrying around in wallets etc.!

    New SWT Ticket Machines

Coincidentally I was reading yesterday about a new video-link ticket machine (manufactured by Cubic) on trial at Stansted Airport station. Links: https://www.cubic.com/News/Press-Releases/ID/1621/Abellio-and-Cubic-Trial-UKs-First-Video-Ticket-Office-at-Stansted-Airport and...

    New SWT Ticket Machines

Interesting. The casing looks like the Parkeon machines used on the Northern Rail network - compare this example I photographed at Marple last year. SWT already has a handful of ToD-only Parkeons, but they are in a curved red case.

    New Ticket Design Launched

I was going to reply to say no to London Overground machines, but I've just seen one in the new layout today! Issued at New Cross Gate. I'm not sure on TL/GN.

Another one to add to the list: I've just been notified of "Warrington Central or Bank Quay".

These are the ones I have seen so far: Bedford or Bedford St Johns Colchester or Colchester Town (*) Dorchester South or West East or West Croydon (*) Edenbridge or Edenbridge Town (*) Farnborough Main or North (*) Folkestone Central or West Hertford East or North (*) Maidstone East...

Number of carriages of all services calling at Worthing between 7am-10am?

As an example, the 0819 arrival from Brighton (0820 departure to Pompey Harbour) is almost always a 313, but is formed of a 4-coach 377 about 5% of the time. (I take that train every day.)
