Thanks @Dusty_Bin
I hear some have been in trouble for seeking contributions or donations towards running costs. I am going to the Leeds Running Day on Sunday and will try and bung the bus owners a few quid quietly. Not fair i get to ride these vehicles with no contribution.
Running early services to Ribblehead would help. Seasonal dated would do. You need to be in Horton or Ribblehad around 7 to do the 3 peaks. And on sundays too.
A decent set up for a scanner would read the ticket barcode up or down, and any way up. Anything else will have people fumbling to get it right.
When yiu see people passing gates with credit card mag stripe tickets its very quick. Barcode needs to be as fast.
Why do you need to totally close the station? As @2192 says, Cross country can still run north, the Cotswold line and Chilterns London service can still run.
The skipton - Lancaster line only skirts the forest of bowland. Call it the Wenning line. It follows the river Wenning between Clapham and past Wennington.
I bet the preston signallers are pleased the leeds - lancaster trains are now 90 mph 158's rather than 75mph 150 or pacers.
Northern ones are not intuitive. I wanted a plusbus. Looked for Leeds Plusbus as a destination. But you select your rail ticket then you add in plusbus as an add on later.
Cant find plusbus on the Northern website. Looks like TVM or ticket office only.
I have a full UK driving licence (passed manual gearbox test 1979)
I have these groups:
AM, A, B1, B, C1, D1, BE, C1E, D1E, f, k, l, n, p and q
What else do I need to drive a vintage bus where fares are not collected
Any other certification?
Thanks
I saw a vulcan make a low level pass at Church Fenton air show in the late 60 when I went with Dad. Awesome. There was one at Wellesbourne when we went to the caff at the airfield there - but we have moved from the midlands now so dont know if its still there.
No idea what it was but I was...
I have sent pdf's to people who use iphones and ipads and they have not been able to open them. Also other standard file formats that apple seem not to want to support. .png has cause issues, I seem to remember.
Just get a samsung....
Isnt there a problem coupling different types of vehicle because of behaviour on curves. I think there were problems with a pacer 142-144 types being coupled to a 23m vehicle like a 158. I think that was covered by an outright ban, not by curve restrictions.
My car makes a horrid noise when i do an emergency stop and its struggling not to skid. Is the noise you get from a train struggling to grip the same sort of kit.
