‘Must do’ European Loco Hauled Services

Watch out, the daytime service this year is not running. Instead, they will be running two wretched commuter units with a planned connection in the middle.

    TGV seat reservations

That's my experience too, I asked for a window seat and got plonked in the aisle...with an empty window seat next to me. Okay, cheers then!

Could Dual Mode Vehicles be implemented in the UK?

To be honest, it's a gimmick mostly used to attract tourists, they even have a merch shop at one end. However, it is VERY fun to use. :D I've added a few images of the vehicles they use for people who haven't already seen them. It's basically a Toyota Coaster (minibus), with an extended nose...

    Interregional in Romania

As stated by others, the train is operated by Interregional Călători, who do not accept Interrail. I guess you will have to stomach the £2 loss.

    Tallinn to Narva

You'd each be spending £120 to get your visa, likely making this the most expensive drink of your life. Just go and stand on the viewing point, and then have a couple of cheap Estonian beers.

Can and will train seats become comfortable again?

No doubt if they bother replacing them, it will be with more of the same rubbish cushions...
