    Britail M-Pass

No ticket issues. Five staff training / knowledge issues. Though I appreciate that the complexity of tcketing invented by the TOCs does not make training (for the very same TOCs) easy.

Family & Friends railcard validity with other tickets

I assume your season ticket is from Marden to Tonbridge? If so then you need to get family railcard discounted tickets from Tonbridge to Buxton for both of you; and a ticket for your daughter from Marden to Tonbridge.

A ticket routed High Speed is in fact valid from St Pancras to Farringdon, Blackfriars, London Bridge, city Thameslink. So nothing additional to pay.

Travel later in the day. Or travel via Tonbridge. Or go only a few days a week and use a flexi season.

Railway lines crossing at right angles

I have stood on the embankment to the north of the present day Hull-Selby line, so the evidence is pretty good. I think you may be right that the embankments south of ther present day Hull-Selby line have been removed, though.

Railway lines crossing at right angles

Indeed. You can walk along the course of the Hull and Barnsley railway shown above the lettering on the map above, as it is part of Eastrington nature reserve. It’s on an embankment as the map shows.

Railway lines crossing at right angles

There used to be one at Boldon, and I’m sure there were others in the north east of England.

    Ridiculous fares on GWR

Per billion. Happy to be corrected, but the report basically says there were 427 KSIs per 1,000,000,000 vehicle miles Miami is doing 300 vehicle miles. So for there to be a chance of 1 KSI, 1,000,000,000 / 300 / 427 = 7,806. Or have I made a mistake (apologies if so).

    Ridiculous fares on GWR

The casualty rate (killed or seriously injured) per billion vehicle miles is 427, according to https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/956524/road-casualties-year-ending-june-2020.pdf For a juorney of 300 miles, that suggests that there's...

Arbitrary seat reservations without going to a ticket office?

Given that we effectively have bugger all revenue, is it sensible to decrease marketing and distribution by removing some retailers, as a way of solving the lack of revenue?

    Caledonian Sleeper

No. No ones going to be changing the current rolling stock.

    Caledonian Sleeper

There was no different gender sharing, except by arrangement.

    Caledonian Sleeper

That won’t be happening, as I said. Things are complex enough as it is. The market for sharing is negligible.

    Caledonian Sleeper

It won’t ever return. It was removed before the pandemic. Most customers didn’t like it.
