Full Oyster PAYG on National Rail...almost there now

Just had a quick look in the current and previous Traffic Circulars, nothing in there regarding OXNR commencing... I'll check the Ticketing & Revenue circular tomorrow at work, nonetheless.

New Circle Line service at Paddington

Yes. The new service is being called 'The Extended Circle Line', so it will still be the 'Circle'.

How much fare evasion is there and are barriers the way to go?

As to wether or not they work: The following is advertised on a poster at Tottenham Hale LU Station . All good, except for the fact the area they check leads to the gates anyway. So I would imagine those without tickets would double-up or jump the gates. With regards to barriers being...

    Staff with First Class passes

Even those of us with Standard class passes are required to stand if a fare paying passenger requires it. They should not have been kicking up a fuss - they should be grateful for having a few ticket at all, yet along a first class one.

FGW give out free refreshments because train was delayed

IMO, no, it's the customers responsibility to check the conditions, it's not the guards job to tell you that you can claim a refund. (Note, although I say the guard doesn't have too, personally I would do).

    Staff without a clue

Indeed, I've had ticket office staff refuse to sell off-peak tickets until 0930 to at least 10 people, when the train is 0933 - meaning, obviously, not everyone got their tickets in time for the train between '30 and '33..

    BBC Question Time 22-10-09

I believe that we should just let them speak, to be honest. Let them say what they want to say, just as we listen to the (false..) promises of the Labour & Conservative party, we should listen, and let the people decide if they are talking sense, or just a load of bollocks. (I would also like...

20227/20189 move the Tube Stock at last

The 8-car version is for the Metropolitan Line, however the 'S' stock will also be used on the Circle, Hammersmith & City and District Line.

20227/20189 move the Tube Stock at last

S stock does look very nice and shiny... with it's security guards lol. The class 20s has been in the sidings at Neasden next to the running line, just departed a few minutes ago, (with the wagons still between them). (and have just whistled through wembley 2230)

20227/20189 move the Tube Stock at last

Differencing in couplers I would assume? I'm on a train which stables at Neasden on friday night, hopefully I'll get some pictures if it's around.. (and if the security guards let me)!

20227/20189 move the Tube Stock at last

The 66's can only be used when the line is under a possession, so they're fine for engineering works. This stock move is being treated like a normal train with a path, no possessions necessary, so it needs to have some level of protection =]

20227/20189 move the Tube Stock at last

The class 20's are used as they are fitted with tripcocks.

Boarding a train without a ticket - really illegal?

Indeed, I know this particularly a problem on ex-Silverlink stations, where contracted staff wear out uniforms... ...but anyway, what 'bengley' is describing is still fare evading even if the gates are open. Just because the gates are open doesn't mean you aren't entering a penalty fare area...

Boarding a train without a ticket - really illegal?

May I ask how you intend to do that, considering all LU stations have ticket barriers? Do you just vault the gates?
