WCML - Wires Down Euston to Watford Jct

London Midland told us overhead wire problems at Wembley today. DC lines were running okay as far as I was aware - (at least the Bakerloo was, Overground had Severe delays).

    SWT Train Fire

Spoke to the SWT controllers earlier, they mentioned 3 trains.. first one was at West Byfleet which is why it was announced as such!

    Nowt trains east Anglia

The Stansted Express also acts as as a commuter service, serving Harlow Town (two an hour), Bishops Stortford (the other two an hour), and occasionally Stansted Mountfitchet, and therefore gets very busy during the peaks.

    Disruption due to poor weather

FCC still have ongoing problems with staff shortages... presumably hence the large recruitment drive. Latest I've heard with regards to the dispute with current staff is that there will be a reballoting of staff by the 13th of January, so we shall see!

    Nowt trains east Anglia

You've got to admit, it's been a bad week - not just because of the snow. A 315 snapped it's pantograph off and pulled all the wires down at Hackney Downs, and there was a fatality at Harlow Mill. You also can't deny the company puts upmost priority on the Stansted Express and doesn't really...

    Communication- a plea

For some reason LU has a 30 second PA rule - a PA must be made within 30 seconds of stopping at a signal... The district & circle do IIRC, all other lines have to do it manually

    Ticket Easements

I honestly doubt it. If they're not advised of ticket acceptance, they won't let you through - and even if you do, you will be penalty fared if you are check by an RCI, despite the fact a member of staff let you through, as you have no valid ticket.

    Ticket Easements

For future reference - I was told today that when a TOC allows tickets to be used the day after they were valid, they are not valid on the Underground (even when their original validility states they are).

    16-25 Railcard discount on Oyster

This is where I am going to be cautious. Once your card has capped, you will not be charged more - over all modes of transport. However, it will cap at the appropriate fare - the price of an LU cap and an LU/NR cap may be different..

    16-25 Railcard discount on Oyster

If the appropriate fare was £5, then you wouldn't be charged anymore - correct.

    16-25 Railcard discount on Oyster

Once your card is capped for that day for the zones you are travelling in, provided you travel only in those ones, you will simply be charged a £0.00 fare for subsequent journies.

    16-25 Railcard discount on Oyster

It's showing as 34% discount available on Off-Peak and anytime tickets, subject to the minimum fare. Further Down:

    Sleeper Easements

As we've discussed before Yorkie, that's what the training says ;) You will generally find that staff at busier stations (such as Kings Cross) seem to know about NR tickets a bit more, but at quieter stations, if your ticket gets rejected by the gates, they don't always know.. And yes...
  20. D

    Sleeper Easements

That one is generally interpreted to mean that you can travel from a station within Zones 1-6 to Euston to catch the ticket, included in your sleeper ticket. You will have some problems at LU gatelines, as we are told *nothing* about this!!
