    Getting off before booked destination?

You can only amend the date and time, not origin or destination.

    Supermarkets discussion

You’re lucky to get a staffed checkout of any description in some supermarkets these days so I doubt you’ll get fast and slow lanes!

    Getting off before booked destination?

Given the discussions about GTR and SWR and short faring, I think we need to be wary of suggesting that people purchase short distance tickets to get through barriers if the underlying ticket isn’t valid at that location. Although starting/finishing short with an Advance ticket is not strictly...

Introducing RailUK Tickets - support the forum when booking your rail tickets!

I'm not connected with the forum's ticketing site but that doesn't look like you've been charged twice. Ultimately, what counts is what ends up on the statement as a confirmed transcation. Not what is listed as pending.

Introducing RailUK Tickets - support the forum when booking your rail tickets!

Have you got two sets of tickets? If you haven't then I can't see how you have been charged twice.

Railcard purchased tickets without Railcard discount - fined !

Just to be clear some railcards do have minimum discounted fares on weekdays. For example: 16-25 is £12 before 10am excluding Advance Fares. Minimum fare restriction does not apply in July or August 26-30 is £12 before 10am excluding Advance Fares Veterans is £12 before 10am excluding Advance...

Advice for arguing penalty fare despite tap in during journey

Posters are in place at Farringdon but in my view the wording is not ideal. The wording should really say that you need to touch in/out if you are changing at Farringdon from a traditional ticket or v.v (i.e. CCST or e-ticket to pay as you go on contactless or Oyster)

    The 'fraud letters' process

Just to be clear, established forum members on here are very experienced in railway ticketing matters, including disoutes and prosecutions, and are able to offer appropriate guidance and advice to people seeking advice in these areas. We are not experts in immigration issues, so regardless of...

16-17 Savers will no longer expire at 18th birthdays

It would make sense for it to be 18-30, although there are a few differences between the 16-25 and 26-30 railcards that would need sorting.

ScotRail - New app / website booking engine from 30 July 2026

How is the refund going to be calculated? Also what about anyone who has an annual ticket expiring on 27/02/2027, deliberately timed so the next year's can be purchased on 28/02/2027 thus beating the next price increase?

TFW removing off peak day returns

Presumably quota controlled so they can sell out, meaning that you might not always be able to purchase one?

Companies That You Expect to Disappear Soon

Who’s the retailer? Sounds like click and collect is processed in the same way as a home delivery but just delivered to the store for you to collect.

Companies That You Expect to Disappear Soon

It changed way back. The ability to reserve a product and pay for it upon collection was removed. You now order and pay online which allocates the item to you. There’s 7 days to collect it and if you don’t collect you’re refunded.

    Veterans Railcard eligibility

That's not correct. A politician cannot claim personal travel as expenses. Non London MP travelling to Westminter from their constituency can claim travel on expenses to and from London because they have two places of work - their constituency and Parliament.

    Supermarkets discussion

How many bananas are in a 18kg case? Answer - it depends on the time of year, smaller bananas in winter mean you get more in the case the case to get to 18kg and fewer in summer. A supermarket can easily update their stock file by 18kg for each case of bananas that is delivered and decrement...

    Supermarkets discussion

Back to Red Bull, Sainsbury's have been deploying security caps on single cans of Red Bull in some convenience stores for 2-3 years now. In convenience stores Red Bull single cans is often the highest single item for shrinkage! It sepends how fast the customers are at self scan! I find the...
