Trivia: Bus routes that have been downgraded from Double Deck to Single Deck operation

Back in the mid 90s MTL on Merseyside had a load of elderly Atlanteans on busy high frequency routes, so started replacing them mostly with Wright Endurance Volvo B10BS, after buying MTL Arriva then continued the program in the early 00s, but replacing deckers with low floor single decks, the...

    Sim Sig

Some of the sim sig sims are very challenging for single player mode anyway, they've just released Crewe sim & that is one of the most challenging sims for single player they have, first time i've been quite intimidated by a simsig sim, & that's looking at the sim with no trains on it. I do...

    TfGM Bus franchising

I'd have prefered White, Orange, Brown combo, that were the colours of GMPTE buses, that were all over the GM area in the early 80s, & that livery stood out too.

Why so crowded on the London Buses X26 at 5am?

Yep, seems like a how dare the bus i intend to use at 5.15am was so full so we can't use up 4 seats for our luggage type of thread. That the 05.15 X26 from West Croydon arrives at Heathrow just after 06.30 means it's perfect for Heathrow workers who's shift begins around 7am, the next X26...

Which type of train still in service today will you miss most when they've all been withdrawn from use on the national network?

Merseyrail being my local operator i'm going to miss the 507s & 508s, bit to young to remember the introduction of the 507s, but i remember the 508s being introduced after a spell on the Southern network. I'm going to miss the 158s too, i remember them being introduced too, much prefer the 158s...

Contemporary buses you wish you'd traveled on

One bus type i never traveled on were the batch of Neoplan N4009s that MTL Merseybus had. They were originally bought for the Smart cross Liverpool City Centre services that Merseytravel launched in the early 90s. The tender went to Arriva in 98 (this was before Arriva bought MTL), so the...
