Map of speed limits on sections of track across network?

The free version doesn't seem complete anyway. The route I eventually found abruptly stopped half way through following it. Doesn't help that none of the text in the diagrams is searchable.

Map of speed limits on sections of track across network?

Ok, the information is there but a 100 page pdf wasn't exactly what i had in mind. Something which I could quickly refer to overlaid on a map would be far handier. Basically openrailwaymap.org but with full data.

Map of speed limits on sections of track across network?

Doesn't look like it's publicly accessible for an individual There is actually some data on https://www.openrailwaymap.org/ with the Max Speeds overlay, but it's a bit patchy. Would be great if some people in the know could contribute to that project.

Map of speed limits on sections of track across network?

Hi, Is there publicly accessible data in map form of the speed limits on each section of track. Would be nice to see what they are on a phone as I'm travelling along.

Alternative routing with advance fare permitted?

Doesn't seem to work for me. With travel VIA leeds and 1 hour change, it routes via Bradford!

Alternative routing with advance fare permitted?

There doesn't seem to be any VIA or AVOID options on the national rail site? edit: oops found them

Alternative routing with advance fare permitted?

It's probably late july/august. Forcing the change at Leeds would seem ideal, but LNER booking engine doesn't seem to do the trick even when ticking VIA and inserting Leeds. Also, anyone know why the Bradford train waits 13 minutes at Leeds? pathing issues?

Alternative routing with advance fare permitted?

I should add that the LNER train from Kings Cross to Bradford (stopping at Shipley) waits 13 minutes at Leeds station (dwell time), which is partly why changing there is more sensible. They normally check tickets once the train from Leeds up to Ilkley is in motion, so it would be a bit late to...

Alternative routing with advance fare permitted?

hi, i am planning to buy an advance ticket from Kings Cross to Guiseley (GSY). Normally this routes via Leeds with a change onto a WY Metro between Leeds and Guiseley. however if I get the 18:33 from KGX it routes via Shipley with a change to a WY Metro train to Guiseley. However I know from...

    E tickets not available

The new LNER app is actually fairly decent, it can save you tickets to Google Pay or Apple Wallet. However it made no attempt to save my payment method for next time, although I did use Paypal so maybe it saves credit cards. Facebook messenger integration was an option but didn't work. But...

CrossCountry Oxford to Guildford slower than GWR stopping service

Would anything increase the linespeeds, or is it inherent to the geography/terrain of the route? I understand it has some steep gradients in certain places.

CrossCountry Oxford to Guildford slower than GWR stopping service

Just to add some more information to this thread. The link below contains 2 documents with plenty of info on introducing 3tph or even 4tph, including a full simulated timetable for one of the trains being Gatwick-Oxford. Two important point for me: Gatwick-Oxford direct would not provide...

Just to respond that several routes where I couldn't buy e tickets with certain TOCs are now available, so problem solved!

    E tickets not available

I've noticed that for certain routes I take some of the rail company booking engines will allow me to buy e tickets, and others won't, for the exact same route. In one case, the company running the service on that route won't, but another company will! Does anyone know why this is? Also e...

CrossCountry Oxford to Guildford slower than GWR stopping service

Of course, but it shows the timing potential if the 3rd train on the 3tph North Downs was instead extended to be Gatwick Airport to Oxford with a 3 minute dwell time at Reading. I believe this was discussed at some point officially? Probably the issues are paths between Oxford/Reading, and the...

CrossCountry Oxford to Guildford slower than GWR stopping service

That's if you use trains that fall over the recommended 7 minutes changeover time at Reading (typically 10-20 mins wait). In the past I've managed to make the connection with only a 3 minute gap, bringing the Gatwick-Oxford time down to 1 hr 40 ish. A good planner for this is www.fastjp.com...

CrossCountry Oxford to Guildford slower than GWR stopping service

Oxford has an hourly coach to Gatwick Airport from Midnight until 10pm, so clearly there is the demand. The coach takes 2 hr 30 mins, which I think a direct train could comfortably beat that? Changing at Reading is confusing and a hassle for Tourists and you can't really sell it as an 'Airport...
