Veterans Railcard - can passengers be confident they're sold the cheapest fare?

GWR and Avanti you have to quantify how many are travelling on a railcard. Adding Veterans and then you say 2 adults and 1 child are using it gives the correct price.

    PRIV Oyster

I managed to get an NR Only PRIV loaded at Paddington Elizabeth line 2 Saturdays ago. Unfortunately, I then lost my Oyster somewhere in between Scotland and England due to Avanti chaos, so upon arrival at Kings Cross Saturday gone, I had to buy another Oyster. I was then sent from gateline to...

    Rovers issued with QR codes

QR codes are better for being read by phones and Aztec is better for being displayed on phones and media which essential for high-speed scanning. Because the finder pattern on an Aztec is in the middle, a reader can orientate the data quicker than a QR, which has 3 finder patterns in the...

Stations rebranded to Great British Railways design / Rail Alphabet 2 & 3

Noticing only now that Hayle, whilst being in RA2 has no TfC branding unlike Redruth, so maybe the Glypha ones that have been left standing just haven't been manufactured yet.

Stations rebranded to Great British Railways design / Rail Alphabet 2 & 3

GWR Cornwall vs Devon. Currently Cornwall is being resigned to RA2 but leaving some of the station name boards in GWR Glypha brand (waiting for TfC branding?); Devon's resigning appears to also be replacing the name boards with RA2 at the same time (see also Dawlish). Redruth (up thread) has...

Exeter St Davids to Yeoford: Is it an oversight that two singles are cheaper than a return?

The Tarka Line is part of GWR's fares reform trial. All Exeter - Barnstaple inclusive fares have gone to single leg pricing, meaning there are now only Anytime (and some Off Peak) Day tickets and no period returns. Single fares were rounded down to be around half the equivalent day return.

Stations rebranded to Great British Railways design / Rail Alphabet 2 & 3

From what I'v managed to grab from St Germans and Bedminster. Interestingly, the south west have gone the TfL style for the way out - being all yellow on black including the arrow.

Stations rebranded to Great British Railways design / Rail Alphabet 2 & 3

Several mainline stations in Cornwall have now got GBR wayfinding signage. The station name boards are still in GWR brand, but everything else has gone over to GBR. St Germans, Par and Hayle are 3 that have been converted.

Is the Penalty Fares system working

No that's not what they are intented to be, but have de facto become as it's an easier and cheaper resolution than using time, effort and money to get a conviction. Some evaders actively ask to be fined as they'll know that the member of staff doesn't have that power or time to do anything...

Once again we have arrows pointing in to text, which is be a big no-no in wayfinding. Arrows should be justified by the direction. This would however necessitate a division between the two sections in this particular case.

Yes. 1Z99 has restarted under its own steam and moving back to Exeter. 1A77 needs 1 more engine to restart to move under its own steam.
