yes, that's a possibility ... The bus along the seafront to Blyth, then to Morpeth. Travelling on a Sunday may be a problem ... I can check the timetables. And to be honest .. going on the bus isn't as exciting as on the train. Even waiting at Newcastle Station and seeing folk come and go...

is there such a ticket for unlimited travel on Glasgow buses for a day, such as in London and Edinburgh? It looks to me that separate bus companies have their own schemes, but no combined system, which would be sensible
