I had to wait 3 months after all my pre-employment checks were completed before being given a start date. I'm sure it will just be a case of waiting until spaces at school open up

Congratulations on the offer! BMI in itself shouldn't be an issue as long as your blood pressure is within the accepted limits. I had similar concerns when I attended mine but it didn't cause me an issue.

You'll find out on the day pending drug test results which I was told can officially take up to 10 days, however it's usually quicker than that. Mine were through within 3 days but I'm not sure if results are being delayed by the virus situation.

It's definitely possible, I was offered a grade 8 position with no Signaller or rail experience. The portal updates aren't too reliable but you'll be contacted directly if you are invited to an interview.

I was offered a Signaller job at the beginning of the year and I come from a Scientific background. You don't need rail experience to get a Signaller job, you just need to be able to demonstrate the right skills.

Yea, I'd heard that too, I just wondered if it was any different for pre employment ones as I've seen on other posts on this board people having to re-take their pre-employment medicals as they expired after 6 months. They weren't for jobs with NWR though.

Does anyone know if pre-employment medicals have an expiry date? It looks like my training will be starting around 7 months after my pre-employment checks were completed and I'm wondering whether I'm going to be asked to attend another medical before starting.

I waited 3-4 weeks for my written offer after the verbal one. I was advised not to hand in my notice at the time by my LOM which is just as well as it's been 3 months since my written offer and still waiting for a start date.
