Thanks Tom.
What made me curious was that another one of our drivers asked the signalman and he said that someone came a few years back and removed them all. Even the shunting discs are missing numbers.
It's particularly annoying being a tamper driver as we do a lot of T3 possession work around...
Does any one know why the numbers are missing from the signals around MM?
It's a real pain having to get your route map out when stopped at a signal before calling the box.
Does anyone know if FLHH would employ a qualified driver still in post qualified period and if they would what would the pay be?
I'm a newly qualified yellow plant driver (8 months) and I'm considering sticking my CV in.
Thanks
When I see was working on the blockade I got off of the tamper to have a ****** and a tech approached me to tell me that the entire job was being filmed via a camera on a bridge so it could be condensed into a 2 minute film. Has anyone seen it or knows where it can be found?
Quite a few OTM companies are taking on maintainer/operators at the moment so being a time served fitter would be an advantage. The driving training then comes later as and when new drivers are needed (due to retirement, new machines or drivers moving to freight or passenger).
Is the work...
Here's a question, a mate of mine got a borderline pass on one of the tests which isn't a problem for our company but should he wish to go driving elsewhere when qualified would this be an issue?
I've just done my assessment for the second time after my first ran out after 5 years. I used the practice software and managed to keep up and got a very high pass so it can be done.
Edit: that sounds rather arrogant. What I mean is with enough practice it can be done.
This is the second time I've had to take it. My previous pass runs out (after 5 years) just before the start of my rules course.
Last time I got about 1750 with 1 omission which was a top pass but this time although my speed is about the same (if not a bit quicker) my omissions are higher...
Does anyone know how many omissions are allowed in the GB test? My speed and consistency are fine but I'm missing between 1 and 4 each time. I missed 6 last week when I had my daughter running round me.
Thanks
