I think there are still a few through services on weekdays, caught the 13:03 from Paddington a couple of weeks ago And at weekends there are through services although listed with 2 codes: Penzance/Ply then Ply to Paddington

From my experience living in Penzance, it's the DFT that are running GWR now and must take a good share (if not all) of the blame for the recent deterioration in the GWR Inter-City service. The commuter style IETs are not very pleasant for 5+ hr journeys, especially without a buffet car. GWR...

You never hear anyone in Cornwall complaining about a 5+hour journey on a classic HST to London - you must have some really nice trains up in Scotland to complain about GWR HSTs coming your way We are losing them to you & now we have Commuter Spec SH*tachis to endure on 5+hr runs
