I've been on several passenger trains, usually at night, which have gone non-stop from Manchester Piccadilly to Leeds via Huddersfield.

With regard to crew availability for 68's. There are no more crews in training for the current 2 diagrams operated. Scarborough crews are training currently, but when they come on stream in December, the number of diagrams operated will increase too, so the ratio of available crews to turns...

1F62, the 10.41 Scarborough-Liverpool, is starting at Man Vic at 12.56 "due to a fault on this train" according to JourneyCheck, that could conceivably be a 68 off Longsight. It is disappointing that with, I think its 5 sets available now, not one was fit enough to start at least one diagram...

But I haven't suggested that gen public would be conveyed onto the depot, only authorised people who work at the depot. I put to you - how do you think cleaners and other staff get their equipment into the saloons - I'll give you a hint - it isn't from the ballast and through the driving cab....

How do the train crew get off once the train is on the depot? They're not stuck on it until it leaves the depot again.... the mind boggles.

I seem to recall that both Wimbledon and Longsight had their own staff halts on the mainline. There was a shuttle too between Padd and Old Oak. I don't see why a service for depot workers can't be provided by what would otherwise be ECS to the depot.
