My parents are on an EMT service from Derby to London STP being held at Leicester due to an apparent dewirement at Elstree and Borhamwood. Anyone heard anything?

I have no problem with striking if it is truly a last resort (i.e. been through ACAS) AND (and this is the bit I think should be law for all strike action) it can only be taken if 50% + 1 of those balloted vote yes. Not 50% of those who voted, but 50% of those who were entitled to.

The NRE app for Android lets you set an alarm based on the train you are on and your destination, it then goes off a few minutes before the booked arrival time. Quite handy if you are unsure as to the exact time your train gets in

When I lost my card I booked an advanced fare with EMT on I rang them and within 20 mins I was able to pick up my ticket from a ticket machine using any card and the original booking reference. Was very impressed!
