Different roles so different emphasis on safety critical for SC and customer service for ticket Office so you might not have answered differently just differing scale they score, good luck for the next stage, WMT use group bourdon so look at the main page and do search as lots been posted on the...
You failed the SJT for the ticket office but passed the SC one, next stage will be invited for assessments and then if successful an interview leading to offer of employment or a talent pool awaiting a position. Next email will be assessments probably in Birmingham depending on depot applied for.
My limited understanding is that as this is an OPC test then yes any result whether better or worse would be over ridden hence why most advice on here is only to apply for one position if undertaking OPC assessments, once you have passed be it enhanced or standard then you can apply to your...
Depends on TOC but mainly management grades and directors, also for any other staff that have length of service or BR protected right staff as well as retired staff again either through there retirement job title or length of service, I’m sure there are others
It will also depend on what depot you are applying for as some depots recruit more quickly than others but you might be lucky and get employed within months or you could be looking to over a year, just go for it.
What depot as you never know someone there who’s on the forum or knows someone might be able to give you a clue when a vacancy might open up, could be waiting on a TM going driving but they have not got a course date yet?
They have a small recruitment team that cover the whole of the business so I’m sure if they had a start date they would let you know, as it is and I know it’s frustrating you just have to hold on, they are currently just completing a driver recruitment campaign with some assessments still...
It’s difficult because often railway recruitment is very slow especially between assessments and interviews, and sometimes very little notice so it can be very difficult, in my case I was lucky they fell on rest days and late turns but I have to say some I pushed it to the wire to get into work...
If your an internal candidate then most allow time off if the same TOC if your going to a different TOC then hopefully it falls on a rest day or you take it as holiday and if external then again hopefully a day off or holiday.
It all depends what this other job is and how it is classified, might help if we know that to see what impact it might have? In general as long as they are not in the same category you should be fine but I’m sure there is one TOC that it would say only apply 1 job at a time but can’t remember...
Hopefully the Scottish government stripping Abellio of scotrail contract won’t affect this current process and you hear some good news which hopefully will give those in talent pools some hope.
Kickin Aff was thinking the same although they still need to provide a service for 3 years so may still have some money in the pot nobody will know until those in pools start getting letters to say recruitment is on hold or worse still closed.
Just watch this space I suppose.
I would say yes as the start of the advert states:
Excellent opportunities have arisen to join the Operations Function as a Train Guard on a temporary basis until March 2020 with a strong possibility of becoming permanent.
So no guarantee, who knows until you apply and see what your contract says.
