Several of the new deckers have now arrived at seafield. I haven’t been across, however I’d imagine the majority will be kept inside until they overspill. Should see them move to Central early September with the first examples entering service around the service change.

Believe it will stay for at least the time being due to the delays of the deliveries. The second batch “should” be almost ready for delivery with the first deliveries well overdue.

Staff can be deployed at any part of the city which has major footfall - ie: Murrayfield for events. It’s a case of they cannot operate as a ticket seller without a licence for that specific area. Staff are only deployed outwith these licensed zones for major events.

Unfortunately you can’t just utilise ticket sellers anywhere… you need licences to be able to deploy ticket sellers to locations throughout the city and ultimately the city centre brings in revenue, whereas the likes of ocean terminal and the zoo would have little impact.

CCTV is saved, supervisor attends and makes bus safe to travel back to depot by removing window and boarding passes are assessed and details passed to police. The ironic thing is the majority of U25’s have free bus passes and are easily traceable by the police through the correct channels.

Airlink is due a refresh in 2025. It’s unknown as to what the replacement will be, however, any smaller buses will require a frequency increase. Central depot is unable to house hydrogen due to its city centre location, so I’d expect an order being announce once the depot has been electrified

Last weekend bright bus had a bus break down at the top of Waverley bridge…. You couldn’t make that up. Personally, if I want to make it to the airport on time I’ll pay the extra couple quid for Lothian.

Lothian have very much got focus on the airlink just now. I believe two B5TL’s are being rebranded into the new airlink livery as spares. Supervisors are being dedicated to ensuring the smooth running on a daily basis.

Parking at ingliston has been a regular problem on rugby days with cars literally abandoned along the roadside. Contingency parking will be opened up at the royal highland centre on rugby days.
