How long would be to wait for a line manager interview?

Well done for getting this far. First of all I would like to say it takes time, but you seem to know this and I feel your frustration as the communication between HR and candidates is limited - A call or email at some point to say 'We know you're waiting but this is the hold up' would sometime...

TPE using Northern Rail Class 156 units

Hello Excuse me if this has been posted or answered but today I was at Piccadilly and waiting to catch my connection to Oxford Road on the TPE to Blackpool :46 service. The train that rolled in was a Northern (Not sure of type) all it had on it to tell people it was the TPE was stickers in...

Yes it can, as it switches out on Sunday. Or did when I visited the box. Operates Monday to Saturday 24 hours but closed Sunday.

In regards to 2) I would bet you have a new baby before a signalling school date or even an interview date. The process is long. I have just completed my medical and waiting a start date and a space in signalling school and it is now coming up to 7 months from the application date. I was told...

    Under consideration for assessment 2

    Under consideration for assessment 2

Take your time. Stay calm. Follow the nstructions to the letter. If unsure ask and if still not sure or confident keep asking to do the practice material. I found my assessment leader was partly there to make sure you passed. She didn't want to begin any of the tests till she felt confident...

Regarding Application under consideration for assessment 2

Normally means the hiring manager is making a decision on who to interview. It could be a good sign, as in my experience it normally changed to "Invite to assessment 2 pending" which is just another waiting game waiting for HR to ring the chosen people. It could be a good sign. Good luck.

    Network Rail Pension advice

Hello Signallers. I hopefully will be signalling trains. Got my medical this Friday and references are being checked. But I'm a little confused with the choice of pensions and was wondering if people could advise or explain in layman terms my true options. The way I understand is...

Network Rail HR for new Sig Grade 2

Happened to me this week. Its because I queried something (As I'm freelance I don't have a p45) so they put my acceptance on hold until the resource manager answered my question and I was happy. It then changed to pre employment checks or something. HR said its just the way the system works...

    Signalling Interview - Questions

Thats a tough one. I attended another interview this week which was FTC - but was told that because the re-signalling was being pushed back and most likely not going to happen in their area for a good while, the LOM and his manager had argued to make the position a permanent position as they'd...

West Midlands Day Ranger (Crewe - Hereford)

Good point. I forgot that NRE just link to the main train provider. I should have tried clicking on the link. I normally just do some quick research and then buy at the machines on the day unless there are advance fares listed.

West Midlands Day Ranger (Crewe - Hereford)

Thanks LNW-GW. Each options seems to be getting cheaper than the £56 return which I would have to change several times anyway. But this still does not explain why NR lists it as the cheapest fair for a service that it can't be used on. Its system seems to know not to offer it before 9am, so...

West Midlands Day Ranger (Crewe - Hereford)

Cheers for your input. I thought all trains via crewe ended up on the Marches line to Wales, but thought I might have been mistaken. Why does NR show it as the cheapest fare then next to a train that goes via Shrewsbury. Lucky I did;t buy online and turn up tomorrow to have the conductor tell...

West Midlands Day Ranger (Crewe - Hereford)

Hello, I'm planning on travelling from Crewe to Hereford tomorrow. According to National Rail Enquires the cheapest fare is a West Midlands Day Ranger for £24 . When looking at what a West Midlands Day Ranger was on the NR site - it said Network West Midlands area (West Midlands...

Compensation when Rail Vouchers were used

Letter X On the orange bit at the bottom, there is a 5 digit code with £20.00 then the time and date the ticket was purchased. So I'm guessing this show the RTV payment

Compensation when Rail Vouchers were used

Hello Silly question, but I can't find an answer anywhere and for some reason there is something in my mind that says 'No' I suffered a delay on a journey the other week, but part of my payment was used via rail vouchers. When the TOC comes to look at my claim will they knock the value that I...

    Entitled to refund/Compensation.

MODS please move if posted in wrong section. Hello, I know you can claim if your journey is delayed by 30 minutes and you get more of a refund or value of rail vouchers if it is delayed by an hour etc. However, I was travelling to Barrow in Furness on Friday and planed to catch the 17:45...
