Bah ... the first weekend in 4 months that I need to go into London from Hemel and it's all fubar'd.
OTT is not showing ANY trains moving south of Birmingham - is that right?
Might have to change our plans for this afternoon ..... :frown:
EUS - HML travellers are being advised to go Met to Watford and then bus. Good to see free water being handed out. Lots of Virgin and Lam staff on the ground and the crowd was good natured earlier.

EMT 1D07 (0701 St Pancras to Nottingham) hit by a bird south of Bedford (BDM) en route to Nottingham.
Train terminated at BDM due to badly damaged windscreen.
Will post photo later. Must have hit with some force.
Looks like 426W has hit a person at Hemel Hempstead around 1430.
Thoughts involved to everyone.
Not sure what (if anything ) is moving through there ... but that's where I'm heading right now.

Cancellation and significant lateness (CaSL)
A train is counted as being a CaSL failure if:

From tonight's Standard ... Sign DOO contract by Thursday night or don't bother coming back
Link to Story
Southern Rail bosses issued an ultimatum to 400 train guards planning further strikes to call off the action and sign new deals - or they will have effectively sacked themselves.

I understand the concern from drivers (such as Dave1987) that they believe that DOO is unsafe. I don't work in the industry and I really don't want to be telling people that they are right or wrong - I'm trying to get my head around the facts.
So, just doing "back of a fag packet" maths ...

Given that Southern have effectively pressed the nuclear button and we are now 72 hours away from their deadline does this matter? Are we now seeing an end game where the RMT cannot win?
Having read the letter on another website, I see that GTR make "no assurances" that any (for that, read...
So essentially, the CIS has turrets ? Is the logical conclusion then ...
"The next train at Platform 4 is the 07:32 Southern service to F*** You calling at w******, k***, s*** and c*** ?:lol:
Was on 1824 EUS - MKC (2K97).
No announcements prior to departure that there were significant issues. Probably heard from the guard 3 maybe 4 times in the entire time we were stuck.
As other posters have said, there were long stints at one particular signal. Not sure which one we...
I don't work in the railways and despite my personal feelings on the whole subject, I am staying neutral in case I am seen to be talking out of my Jeremy Hunt on matters I know nothing about.
Call me a cynical old basket, but could this not be a calculated turn from GTR to side-step some of...
I have just moved to the Eutopian paradise that is Hemel and it appears that in order to catch a train to Euston, I get the choice between getting screwed for a ticket and getting screwed for a ticket.
Every off-peak ticket to London is £13.60. This is the cost if I walk to the station right...
Totally understand and a great point - I guess for me, I wasn't thinking about every train, but I understand this is a challenge.
I guess for me, it wasn't about zoning in on one particular year, having the ability to maybe even look at the same day 50 years earlier.
There are other...
