It doesn't look like there is currently a thread about the Stadler units currently on order for Tyne and Wear metro so I guess there's one now.
Do we have any information about their specifications or anything along those lines yet? (seating, max speed, ect.)
Excuse me if this has already been covered in a prior thread, however Porterbrook and Great Central Railway (Nottingham) have reached a deal which will see 144 003 preserved in mid-2020.
This is great news that a class 144 is set to be preserved - bit of a shame that it isn't a 3 car unit but...
When I say "Train", it does seem a bit vague, however it could be anything (locomotive, MU, rolling stock, ect.) so what would you choose? Some rules though:
1. The item in question must have been completed (so nothing partially built)
2. You can only preserve One item (as per the title)
3...
RailAdvent released an article this morning about how the Railriders brand is coming back in February 2020, which you can find here. I cannot seem to find any other articles anywhere else about this supposed "Revitalisation," so I'm remaining a bit doubtful. Are there any other sources to prove...
"On the 24th September 2019, Angel Trains, 3D printing leader Stratasys, DB ESG and Chiltern announced they will be trialling the first 3D printed parts to be used on a train in the UK."
"These parts include four-passenger armrests and seven grab handles, which have been installed on Chiltern...
Hello.
I thought this would be a good thread idea, and I'm honestly surprised nobody else has done it. Essentially it's just the timetables from different heritage railways piled into a thread for ease.
Timetables for September 21 2019

Hi.
According to RealTimeTrains, there has been a service operated from Bradford Int. to Bradford Int. designated 5Z16. It has been cancelled 2 times already, and I plan on going out and seeing the 17:00 run. Is this a class 195 operated service? Why has it been cancelled previously?
Thanks
Greeting.
Earlier on I was at Brighouse and at the end of the platform was a sign that said "TPE 5-6" and another that said "68 S" with the TPE logo in the corner. Now, I believe this could relate to the Nova 3 sets, but currently TPE don't operate to Brighouse. Are there any upcoming plans to...
Alright, due to the class 91/mk4 future use forum being full of speculative ideas, I've decided to set up a new one. Essentially, there isn't much use for them after their withdrawal, however it's always fun to speculate :D
hi.
Looking through this forum I have seen a large amount of mad or downright pointless ideas, so I decided to set up a thread where you can post them.
My ideas are:
Converting redundant pacers into sleeper coaches
converting pacers into EMUs and working them on the WCML, replacing the class...
Hi. I was checking realtimetrains for shewsbury and I couldn't see any working scheduled for the line. Usually coradias are commonly found on the Manchester service so I'm questioning whether the fleets been taken out for refurbishment or a problem required the entire fleet to be pulled or even...
Does anyone know whether wagons owned by the big 4 companies and branded with company names were rebranded in any way (be a BR emblem, renumbering, Ect.)
Hi. Today is the pennine moor explorer, and is scheduled to pass through todmorden, however acording to UKsteam, it's been diverted due to gauging issues. Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks.
Hi. Does anyone have any images of the Johnson 3f in colour? Of course nonot have been preserved (despite the sheer numbers) so it makes colour pictures more unlikely.
Thanks
Good evening. I'm currently looking for ideas for a oo gauge model of a steam locomotive that was planned but never happened/turned into something else. So far I've got the 5AT and the 4-8-2 merchant navy as ideas. Any help?
In 2015 (ish) there was a report about electrification in the north. The calder valley was at the top of the top of the list for CP6. I know there's still the Bolton probject going on, but is it still on the cards?
