Since you have been let go there and then on the spot I would expect you to get payment in lieu of notice in your final pay packet.
This is usually 1 weeks pay during your probation period but best to check your contract to find out.
The volume vacancy was created so everyone who had applied under the old scheme could be put through the new tests.
The result of your test (pass or fail letter) should have been attached to your application on the original vacancy then you'd move I guess from Test Completed status to 'Under...
Has anyone found since NR moved to their new website, that they are no longer receiving the (daily) email update of jobs that have been uploaded?
I've noticed on one of my applications as well, 5 days ago it turned to 'Application Unsuccessful', but no attachment of the PDF letter is on there...
Ditto.
I can only assume they were hedging their bets that no one who actually lived on the route wanted to work for them given all the strikes at the time.
Then when they were inundated with applications they could be picky and change the criteria to within an hour.
Never mind...
No, if you are successful at application stage you will get an invite to test within 72 hours.
If your application is sat on 'Application Under Consideration' then someone somewhere has it on their to list to review, but these things can honestly take weeks :(
One of my applications which was due to be under the old system has been reallocated to a new IRC with the title "Signaller Volume Vacancy for new Signaller Process"
They must be moving everybody across in chunks which I can imagine is going to be a bit of a nightmare!
Train Cleaner Talent Pool (Nightshift)
I have to say, I've never seen a talent pool advertised for cleaners, are these kinds of vacancies really that popular?
Thank you for sharing your examples. The key here though is not to let them knock your confidence.
As others have already been said, you made the grade with Chiltern and that experience should be taken as a positive and used in future recruitment processes with other TOC's.
The depot at...
I was unaware that Oxford PSB had been given a closing date but it appears that getting everything into the TVSC as quickly as possible is the current priority.
Given the postponed electrification of Didcot to Oxford, I would not be surprised if some of those budgeted funds were allocated to...
That is correct. It has also been reduced in size, see below.
I also believe that the field behind the depot where there is a farm crossing has now been bought (I assume by the DfT?) to ensure future expansion opportunities for the depot if and when required.
From what I remember, the catering service was/still is only based at Birmingham Moor Street.
Whilst I'm unsure of the numbers involved, there seems to of been some large scale reorganisation across the network.
I note the future developments in the strategic report for the accounts to...
Whilst I have some time off over Christmas, I have decided that I am going to reconfigure the area of my room that is currently home to my computer desk and chair, both of which are now somewhat ageing.
What I'd like to hear from anyone out there, is of any chairs or desks they would...

This one appears to of slipped my radar!
It would appear the depot is now going to be built in phased stages; absolutely no idea on timelines but does this in anyway effect Chilterns stabling capacity?

Interesting thread.
I like to think I'm the start of a new generation that has a new attitude to learning.
I never had any intention or aspiration to go to University, so I didn't.
My intake would of also been the first to endure £9k per year fees.
So instead I got a training contract with a...
