Yesterday I used the 12:28 Virgin departure off Euston and was wondering why they did a driver change at Crewe, as I thought all the crew changes were done at Preston.
Would any one know if there is any freight on the Morecambe to Lancaster line. Also at Morecambe there was a third line which extended beyond the station towards the coast, am I correct in thinking that this allows freight trains to access the line to Heysham.
I am traveling from Rishton to Cambridge tomorrow, returning the same day can anybody advise of better splits to save money than the following
Rishton to Hebden Bridge
Hebden Bridge to Wakefield
Wakefield to Cambridge.
I will have done it is about 22:00 the last local one, the one about 23:00 from Accrington is next stop Blackburn. Just wanted to check as not sure, but if it is on time at Accrington i should just make the last bus which gets back about 22:50.
Can I just check as I don't think this will be permitted national rail is saying on the return changing at Peterborough and Leeds to catch the 21:08 from Leeds to Blackburn and then doubling back to Rishton.
I have a off peak return ticket routed via Banbury with plans to change at Wolverhampton and Banbury on the outward, would it be also be valid to travel to Brimingham Moor St and walk to new street on the return, as the only ticket that seems to come up is a route any permitted.
Could should tell me if I can use an off peak Rishton to Milton Keynes is valid to travel via Manchester on the outward but come back direct to Preston on the return.
On Saturday 14th February I came through Blackburn at about 22:20 and there appeared to be some carriages parked behind the station in the goods line, anybody know what they could be.
Can anybody recommend any splits for a Rishton to Conway Park return for this coming Saturday arriving approx. 13:00 returning approx. 17:30. No railcards.
I seem to recall a few years back it was to do with the contracts they were on going back to when they were First North Western and Arriva Trains Northern with staff at Arriva not being required to work new years day.
There is a free bus between Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley Hospital. I think it is paid for by the local health trust and is supposed to be for staff and patients travelling between the two sites.

Saturday 18th October Rishton to Stevenage departing about 08:30 returning about 17:30. No railcars. Don't want advance tickets as I might be returning later or departing earlier.
If I have an off peak return for rishton to Northampton, my normal trains being Rishton to Preston, Preston Birmingham and then Birmingham to Northampton. My normal train back is the 17:55 from Northampton to Birmingham and then the 19:15 from there, this being the last train to connect with...
