    A career as a signaller

Thanks for that, I can see I am going to have to make difficult choices soon, I am now getting multiple Interview offers so should I be successful at more than one I will need to decide which to go for. What is Networkrails view on this ?

Is it normal to have extremely long wait between Assessment and Depot Interview? (SWT

Mine is for both, I wish I knew what is going on as I have seen on this forum that some people have been offered jobs recently so it's not like they have stopped the process, they don't answer my emails, maybe they don't have an answer. I don't want to annoy them further by keep ringing them as...

Is it normal to have extremely long wait between Assessment and Depot Interview? (SWT

Yes I think your right, my application and tests (passed) date back to December so go figure, I am so fed up with waiting that I am now pursuing a signalling career.

Ok after applying for multiple signalling roles I have been given an interview date at Woking ASC. I am aware of the 8 non technical skills, can anyone give me advice on the interview process as it has been some 30 years since my last one !

I am under consideration for assessment 2 for 3 different applications, my question is do they look at how far away you are from the location applied for as being a shift environment they will want you to turn up ontime.

Thanks mate, I wonder why they didn't show in my email notifications.

First 2 yes, didn't see Haslemere or Feltham, when did they come out ? My other 2 are Acton Wells/Richmond and 3 Bridges. Had a little bit of good news via email for Didcot, under consideration for Interview so there may be hope yet although I believe that was for a job pool. God this railway...

I have the same as you for the same location, I received an email with an attachment stating a more suitable person was found, I still have another 4 applications on the go so fingers crossed.

    Blood pressure

Mine was quite high until I went to the doctors to do something about it. I suffer from White Coat Syndrome and mentioned to my GP about going for medicals. He told me to tell the examiners to contact him as my BP is now normal under normal conditions and he would verify that my BP is normal.

    Commercial guard assessment invite swt

Hmmm interesting, all I can say is that I passed the assessment on 13th December and haven't heard anything since (4months) although a year seems a bit extreme. All I can say for your assessment day is practice the material they send you and keep practicing, of the 20 that arrived in the morning...

Mine's the same as yours, from other posts it seems like we could be waiting a while longer yet.

Mine has just moved to "Application Under Consideration" for all 3 that I have applied for, anyone shed some light on what this means in real terms. I'm hoping they are considering me for an interview.

South West Trains advertising for trainee train drivers for Staines, Waterloo and Wim

Congratulations, I think it's wrong that these companies should keep people hanging on for so long, only then to tell people they are unsuccessful.

I would be gutted, I have been waiting 3 months so far, did they give you any feedback ?

    Application login.

Ok thanks, didn't know that existed, I'm not TOO worried about the history as I open it in a browser I don't use much.

Does being unsuccessful at DMI counts as one of two lives lost?

I guess the problem is that if you fail at one of the stages you then have to wait a long time to have another chance of applying as it doesn't get advertised very often, is that the case ?

I check it every day, my Guard application says "In Process" and train driver says "New". I have been a bit nervous about chasing them up, let me know how you get on as it will be interesting to know what the position is considering the takeover.
