Don't worry, I rang them a few days ago as I also have an application in progress, the recruitment team can still see it and their IT Team will get it sorted soon.
I know someone the same age as you and is in training, I too am the same age and going through the application process, although I have also been offered a signalling job which was my other choice.
Ok thanks for the heads up ! Was there any choice in the matter as I was rather hoping to commute rather than staying there as I am only 20 miles from Basingstoke.
Thanks, I don't want to tempt fate and go into too many details atm as I haven't had my medical yet and grade will probably give the location away The funny thing is things seem to come up all at once and I have possibly been given another opportunity to think about.
I passed the initial sift and the assessment day back in December, as has already been said, main areas are work history and the SJT, alot of the SJT have the answer "I always follow the rules", now I'm not saying this is right but logic told me to answer this everytime as it is a rules and...
A lot easier than I thought it would be, based around the 8 non technical skills that you can find on here. No trick questions, it was stuff like examples of working alone for long periods, how do you deal with emergencies etc. I was actually invited to 3 different one's. I cancelled the others...
Really, I would have thought Basingstoke would have been the sensible option. I hope that's where they send me as I will be based in Surrey but I haven't had any details yet.
I have done both, you could be right on the time taken to do it, especially on the second one, which I kind of took my time a bit to make sure I got it right, time will tell if I or everyone else did it right.
Well, I applied in December, I didn't want to chase them up too much so sent them an email, my application only changed recently from "New" to "In Process" so I haven't even had the assessment yet. TBH I'll stick with it but in the meantime I applied for several Signaller roles and managed to...
Just had a quick look, it's this - IBM - GWR - Matching - Alphanumeric
Trainee Train Driver (talent pool) (5530)
So a nice alphanumeric test, time to brush up on your maths !
Things could start moving again soon, I had a call from SWT today offering me an interview for the Guard position I applied for back in October. I also have a driver application in, when I asked about it I was told that they may startup the process after the Waterloo works have finished, also...
Keep at it guys, I applied for at least 10 signalling positions and had many rejections, then suddenly got invited to 2 interviews. Had my interview and was offered the job the next day. I too thought I had not made the grade with the online tests. I have to say I think most people pass them...
I have applied, I did get a warning email saying it could get taken down so managed to do it in time. I was used to the short time scale as SWT only give you about 2 days to apply. I'm not too worried now though as I have just been offered a signallers job and I am very happy.
