Hiya Dave,
Not doing too badly. Loving the course and just finished the 3 weeks of rules, so it's onto the traction training on Monday. Visited East Ham the week before last and had a nose around. Bit more substantial than S'Ness and quite an eye opener, but can't wait to...
Not too bad....just finished the 3 weeks of rules and starting 4 weeks of traction on Monday. Can be tough going as you have a weekly written assessment for each of the 3 weeks of rules, but the trainer knows his stuff and makes sure that you actually understand why the rules are in place...
There's only 3 of us on this course, but I can say that regardless of the amount of information/knowledge to learn, it's laid out extremely easily and the trainer is great. I think the first day is a bit of a reality check for what you have ahead of you, but I think it's one of the few training...
Hiya,
Actually, I started the training course today. Was only told just over a week ago, so was a little frantic. Just settling into it now and getting ready to learn hideous amounts of information :)
>>>Hi Ed,
I hear through the grapevine that you are on the next Depot op course with two others starting in January!
If I can have an email address for you, I can send you my 'Guide' as long as you do not share it to anyone outside c2c (as it might harm my chances of being an instructor!)...
I'm not certain it's a agreed and set 'enhanced' level of pass, but the process I've just been through with C2C had a higher required pass mark for the assessments than the industry standard.
One lady who sat Stage 2 with us passed according to OPC standards, but not the C2C standards.
All...
Not too sure....whilst there were other people there, it was obvious that BUPA cater for a shedload of different companies in respect of health at work.
Kept my ears open for any mention of C2C, but nothing really became apparent and I didn't bump into anyone I recognised at C2C HQ either...
Medical all done and out of the way. Passed and awaiting the drugs screen (which should be fine unless the other half has been slipping me something in my food....:D )
Popped along to C2C and filled in reams of paperwork as well, and got the contract. So just awaiting a references check and...
Excellent...thank you! May be a little wait now though. As I put on the C2C topic, they couldn't get a medical done this week...earliest would be the 19th/23rd December, so they're now looking at a January Start date.
Christmas/New Year at home and then into the job! :)
Regards
Ed
Thanks for the offer Dave. Sorry it took so long to acknowledge you, but actually getting the job has slowly been sinking in the past few days....:D
I'll have a ponder on some questions and might drop you a PM tomorrow, but thanks again for the offer.
And fingers crossed still for good...
Cheers for that Dave! However many people are ahead in the line doesn't really bother me....had a hell of a job finding my way into a new career after leaving the Met and just overjoyed that not only have I got a job, but a bloody decent one with some good prospects ahead. :)
East Ham sounds...
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the message and the friend request. I would have sent you a private message, but I think you're under the post count to receive/send them.
I saw you were originally at East Ham. What's it like to work there, compared to other depots? I know that it's the...
In all honesty, I'm not sure. I would think that having got to this stage would warrant a reply, for better or worse, out of courtesy.
It could also be that they may be short staffed in recruitment. It turned out that the person I sent the email to was actually off sick, so that may be...
Well, that was an interesting morning. I emailed C2C as I hadn't heard anything yesterday and got a phone call from Michelle an hour later, but not related to my email....
Anyway, it was the best kind of phone call with a provisional offer of employment for the 15th December! Medical to be...
Hiya,
Haven't heard anything yet, but I knew they were holding a couple of interviews last week so I was kind of anticipating this week to be the earliest that I would hear anything.
Going to wait patiently until Friday and get in contact with them to see what's happening.
Regards...
Well, so far so good. Got a phone call today to say I'd passed the MMI that I sat on Friday. And DM interview booked for Thursday....
Bit quicker than I was anticipating. My interview is with Steve Mason, another Driver Manager and a notetaker.
Aside from the obvious research on their...
Not sure if this is for everyone (they may have multiple days running), but got my email info pack earlier this evening.
Got to be at the OPC in Hertfordshire for 0845 next Friday (14th) for an all day event.
Just got mine through too. :D Was beginning to excrete kittens over not getting any emails at all, but good news!
Hope to see you guys there...I think mine's on Thursday and i'll get an email later to confirm.
Good luck everyone.
Trying desperately hard not to derail the thread more than I have already (Apologies Shunter...), but there's a small problem with this 'solution' to people practising too much.
So, you generate an enhanced pass rate for a particular TOC, designed to perhaps weed out people who practiced the...
Not too sure on the MMI. Stage 1 was just covering the paper tests, but I suppose any test capable of being defined numerically could have different levels of pass....
As the scoring systems are unknown, in the interview you could gain a point for every relevant competency demonstrated, for...
